The hitec 7954 is kinda loud, but not as loud as the ESC! I love the sound of the drag brake on the Revolver.

Overall I LOVE the setup I need to turn down the drag brake since it's still optimized for 80/20 on 2s. I think I am going to go 4s next though and gear down for even smoother startup. Also, I run my slipper loose enough so I don't snap parts. I have a short hill climb vid that I'll post shortly too!

Here is the hill climb test. You can see the slipper save the drive train at 10 seconds. I'm very happy with the wheel speed, though I think my next battery purchase will be a 4s

r2j upper links going in sometime today.

Performance-wise, I'm very happy with Project Venom. The next upgrades will be a winch, lights and scale accessories.

Here's a shot from some pebble beach crawling after Christmas.

Thanks for the reply, thought it was motor/esc making the noise, I like the performance you have, but it's too loud for me. My 7955 is pretty quiet, haven't installed my HS7950HV yet. 2s is nice, 3s is great, I haven't tried 4s in my crawlers yet, but I've been tempted. Looking for good sensored brushless setup too.

Those disks look nice too.

Thanks! Yeah, it's a bit loud, although it is exacerbated by the mic onboard my Canon 60d. I have a 7980th that I'm going to wire straight to the bec at 8v so we'll see if that changes the noise.

Did a little tail light work today.

They aren't perfect, but they look pretty mean! LED's coming soon...

Added some RC Bros knuckle weights and did a little test run at stoneridge park in SLO. It's truly a crawler's paradise!

Plus an iphone 5 video test!

Though this thread has been quiet, I've been busy upgrading Project Venom - so far I have:

Separated and hinged the hood using 1/4" plastic pipe clamps

Replaced the Hitec 7954 with a 7980 wired straight to the BEC and installed in a home made aluminum bracket

Added a front bumper with stinger by Troy at scalerfab.com

Installed a Locked Up RC fairlead and HeyOk HV servo winch (mounted on a homemade bracket made from 1/8" angle) that I'm running at 7.0v

Replaced the stripped tranny internals with HR lightened gears and added a beefy top shaft and 56t RR slipper from Rick at SuperShafty

Replaced my mangled stock driveshafts with MIPs

Currently working on finishing LED roof and tail lights as well as waterproofing...

Some pics

Looking good man. My wraith has been slow going lately. I'm hoping to have some VP upgrades by the end of the summer. Wife is cracking down on all my hobbies lately

We seriously need to do the nemesis thread I think you need those red method wheels with black rings

Where are you anyways? Looks like some place in the mountains.

I live in Massachusetts. It's a state forest near me called profile rock. Nice crawling area. I'm new to crawling so I'm still looking for good areas to crawl and trail ride. Once I get money, my first upgrade is going to be me rims and probably pitbull rock beast tires

Looking at these builds makes me wish I had taken photos of mine from the start of my own.

Oh well, may just have a late start.

I really need to start a build thread this weekend for my wraith. I feel like I keep hijacking yours lol. I just bought a new savox servo 1270tg for mine. I keep blowing servos so hopefully this helps. I was going to buy the red method rims but than I ended up "accidentally" buying a summit going to get method rims in a few weeks or VPs new OMF wheel
