| Wiring for 4 wheel steering, I need some help!
Ok, First off, I searched around to see if I could answer this for myself with out having to post something and I couldn't find the info I need. Here's my set up, CC mmp, cc 20a bec, servos front and back and stock lights. I have a 3 channel rx with 4 slots. The bec has 2 plugs and says to use them both for best results. Do I need to buy a reciever (6channel?) to plug all this crap into or can I wire the servos directly off of the bec and run the signal wires to the rx, feed the rx and lights off of the cc mmp bec? I know it sounds a little ridiculous, I just want it right. Thanks!!!! |

Unless your going to run some Crazy set up,I think the regular 10 amp cc bEC would have been the way to go. I dont know much about the Pro Bec but the wiring diagram shows them plugging both in. In that case I would say you need a rx with more ports. Its still cheaper to order the regular bec for 20 bux What ever you do,Make Sure You UNPLUG The RED Wire from your ESC before you plug it into the rx with the bec! If you dont you will deliver twice the power and fry it. Last edited by ProfitOfDoom; 10-12-2013 at 09:38 AM. |

I have both bec's, I really don't think the ten amp will power both servos and the lights. I'd rather have too much than not enough. I think I can use the 3 channel rx fed from the cc mmp with the lights on it and power the servos straight from the two wires of the bec. I'd rather not have to buy another rx. Can any one confirm this configuration??? Harley you out there? You seem to be the wraith king.

Just run a Y harness, and plug it into the steering channel. Put one of the bec wires in the open port, and the servo in the other, while you plug the other bec wire in the bind port.

A Y harness will be no good because I would'nt be able to switch between front, back, both and crab.

the stock lights dont draw crap...so a 10amp BEC would be all you need, what are the amp draws on the 2 servos?

10 amp bec is fine. The reason the 20 amp bec has two outputs is because a single output isnt rated for 20 amps. One output provides 10 amps and the other provides 10 amps. That being said, if you are running a 10 amp bec @ 6v and you think you might be using 6-8 amps worth of power, bump the bec to 7.4v and the amp draw will be less resulting in less heat and a higher efficiency. Maybe like 4-6amps as opposed to 6-8.

The y harness is for just the front steering and one output from the bec

| Really messy, but I'm in the middle of cramming for a Bio, and geometry test. It acctually takes 2 wire harness's. My wraith runs dual steer, lights, bec Pro, and a light bar. Aka 3 y harness's. |

Should I remove the red power wire from the esc that goes to the rx in this configuration?

I think you had the right idea us the became to power only the servos. Just need to build some kinda adapter to tap into the power just ahead of the ESC And use these received bypass adapters plugged into the bec outputs CreationFab - Plugs Other Receiver Bypass Adapter |

I think in his configuration the red wire going out of y harness to the servo and bec needs cut. That way the ESC is powering the receiver and the bec is powering only the servos

The red wire in the esc should be removed. The bec should power everything besides the esc. Unless like me, you run the mmp 1cell.

I think I'd have the ESC stay live and that way all its powering is the receiver and lights . The power to the servos is only to servos. Pretty sure that is also how Harleys diagram is.

A lot of people run like that. I acctually prefer not to run the internal bec so i eliminated it. The mmp one cell has solder posts and no more extra heat from the internal bec.
