Default What KV ROC412 for a RCW4D 2 Speed Wraith?

Running ah HH HW Brushed but looking at maybe going to a MMP and Tekin ROC412. I'm running the RC4WD 2 speed wraith tranny so an unusual gear ratio.

27T 4mm Medium Wind (maybe heavy wind) 7mm Comm Stand up brushes I think. Works well I just wish I had more high speed in second but its a hoot.

I was in the same boat as you are, but had a HH 35T setup. Great motor with gobs of tq and super smooth for crawling, but like you, I wanted more when I shifted into high gear. I went with the pro4 3300, geared it down to 12/60 final, and it's hella fun with great power on tap anytime but still crawls well in low range. I can just clear the doubles at my local track, the look on peoples face is priceless.

What slipper are you using. The stock rc4wd slips in second gear which seems weird to me. Why in second but not in first? Am I so low in 1st gear that its impossible? My 27T is geared 15/60. Anything less and 2nd gear just sucks. Anything higher and 1st gear is too weak for my taste.

I have the roc412 3100kv with the 2 speed. Geared 13/54 and it is alittle on the fast side. I was geared 13/60 and it would stand up on 2 wheels on asphalt and walk away from sc trucks until it was time to turn then I would wreck and they pass. There is no stability for tight turning at speed with these things but straight line and they are a rocket. I can still crawl slow in low gear also. Slipper I removed the spring added washers and tightened it all the way down.

It slips in second because you have less mehanical advantage to get the truck rolling (higher gear ratio), so it takes more HP from the motor to do so. Mine slipped as well at first, and I didn't want to completely ditch my slipper so I tore it apart before just buying more stuff. I completely sanded off whatever coating they put on the slipper disc (which is what was casuing it to slip, that coating was rubbed off and all over the pad) and roughed it up using some 600g sand paper, sanded the glaze off the pad, and re-assembled everything (note, make sure your washer nearest the spur is large enough also, mine wasn't out of the box) and it holds fine now. If it lets go I'll go I'll upgrade it, but I beat on it for a whole 3s pack last weekend and it held great.
