| 32p Gear matches?
Anyone have some recommendations on what spurs will work and be the best to change to 32p? I am hoping to find something the local hobby shop might already have in stock.

Duratrax, associated, traxxas and kimbrough's work. If you can get to a spare spur holder, take it in with you to check fitment.

A 56t spur is about as big as you can get to fit....a 60t hit my MIP shaft....haven't found a 58, but I bet the cover doesn't fit with that.

Only way to get a 60t to work is delete the slipper, it'll suck in the spur closer to the tranny right in the pocket of the hub/shaft of the mip. If that makes any sense lol http://www.hot-racing.com/index.cgi?...=SCP1505;c=420 Be aware this is locked, so beef up elsewhere as needed... Last edited by Meatwad; 01-05-2014 at 02:21 PM. |

| Re: 32p Gear matches? I wonder what is different about your 60t/mip combo than mine. A 60t still fits under the cover with minimal sanding in one spot.

The Kimbrough 32p 60t spur gear will fit with a little sanding just like Calderwood said. I wish I would have known that when I threw my 60t spur gear on. I did find out the Kimbrough spur gear is tougher than the Axial spur gear cover, it self clearanced itself, had to clean a little black out of it. The Duratrax 32p 56t spur gear I got needed to have the main large hole slight dremeld to fit right, it's what I'm running now with no problems. |

I am trying something now that I don't believe I have seen before on my dmg koh#7 rebuild. Get a super shafty beefy top shaft and a traxxas summit or revo slipper set their is all kinds of 32p gears mid 30's-over 50's reason I am trying this. I already have a vp fully built bomb proof transmission. You cant change the pinion gear teeth the 3rd gen rrp spur used is 56t. I wanted more options. Pluse if u are running all metal everything a plastic spur would be a cheap breaking point if anything were to break. Sent from my SGH-T889 using Tapatalk |

I run Duratrax and Kimbrough. Both good, but I find the Duratrax a little more true. It is definitely a tight fit in the center, but never had to dremel one.

Duratrax are great!! I just installed a 32P 56T spur on my Wraith. It needed a little dremel help because it was too tight. I used the cone style stone thingy....not sure what it is called in the dremel. Once I used it the spur gear fit super tight and the 3 holes lined up perfectly to the holes on the spur. I was going to try a 60T but figured 56/14 was my best option for the Tekin Pro 4 3300kv with MMP. Would 60/14 be ok? Just checking because I do have the 60T spur here too. |

I used a traxxas 54t 32p off I think a slash or a slash or 4x4 slash with I believe an 11 tooth pinion.As close to 5:1 as I can get

I have a Kimborough 60t spur, stock wraith slipper and no clearance issues with mip's. With a 14t pinion the mesh is just a tad tight with the stock motor plate.
