| Motor suitable for Wraith
Hey guys! New to the forum but 2 years deep into rc. Anyways I'm interested in getting a wraith kit. I was wondering if a castle 4000 4 pole could push one of these around? Sensor end is always an option but I would rather spend cash on tires on something. Another qeustion; how hard is it to do foff truck? I do lots of running on the beach in the summer.

No. Read this. Must be sensored if you're running brushless. Choosing a motor and ESC for your Wraith - Gearing Added! |

Does not need to sensored if your running 1800-2200 kV. 2650kv might also run smooth but would be pushing it. You also do not need to spend tons of money there are so many motor option's out there if your willing to break out of the crawler snow globe and into the Rc world MY wraith has about 7 months of running with the 2200kv version of this motor. I eventually killed it with sand injestion. Crawling trailing foffing it does it all and does it well. It runs with the high dollar much lower powered pro4s it spanks them with authority. Voltage is your friend with these. 2-6s lipos pick your driving style that day. http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...dProduct=27973 I run the 150amp senorless track star esc and love it. Its tunable brakes are awesome for crawling or turn them off for foffing. Sensored foffer motor. Will also work well trailing and crawling http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...dProduct=41296 I'm now running a 900kv airplane out runner for crawling. of course its only a 20 dollar motor it does awesome on the rocks pleanty smooth and more wheel speed then needed with 3 and 4s. Being a out runner this motor will not work in the we conditions. Some how it is surviving in the dirt maybe the can spinning is keeping it semi clean On 4s this motor can move some dirt Most won't get into airplane motors . I did by accident because I also fly and had this motor in the nose of crashed plane so figured what the heck. And boy it works way better then expected http://hobbyking.com/hobbyking/store...dProduct=24243 Options are literally endless ounce we open our eyes and see what the Rc world has to offer I've got literally tons of vids of these motors working on the rocks or with paddles if your interested in seeing Last edited by evan03; 01-26-2014 at 10:07 AM. |

K. I'll get on the computer so I can embed the vids. I'm running the turnigy track star 150amp ESC. I'm running the servo off the esc's internal bec. I run a savox 1268 servo only just over 200oz at 6volts 2200kv on 6s with paddles 4s and paddles crawling with the 2200kv on 2 and 3s 900kv airplane motor same turnigy track star 150 esc Last edited by evan03; 01-26-2014 at 07:55 PM. |

Anytime. I could never afford what Harley and otheres run for electronics but there is no reason I can't run with or slightly ahead of them. Keep in mind when someone says it can't be done that only means they haven't done it. And most certainly means it can be done. |

I can literally run any system I want. If the 8th scale system was superior, then I would run it. If run competitions with my rigs all year long, I am run the most optimum electronics available for the application. I am not sponsored by Tekin or Castle both of which also offer 8th scale systems if I wanted to run that style. I've ran 8th scale before and if the response was as good I would be on top of it. | |

I hear you. But the statement it can't be done is false. Yes a top notch sensored system geared well will be smoother it dam well better be. The fact is it can be done and done with good results. Does not have to be 1/8th scale. Last edited by evan03; 01-28-2014 at 06:25 AM. |
