| Wraith Issues
Newbie a bit stumped here. I'll try to explain the best I can My RTR wraith is having an issue like the battery is near dead. When starting out it goes fine up hills, rocks, whatever. However after a minute or two the battery acts like it's dead and it just runs out of power when it hits something where power is needed. Downhill it rolls ok, but you can still notice a lack of power. Sometimes it will just go flat dead (steering still works) for a little bit, as if it has a loose connection somewhere. I inspected it and can't find anything obvious. Any ideas? |

Possibly esc has gone out. Make sure you have a battery the esc is rated for. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Motor brushes are out is what that sounds like to me. Replace them and should work great. If you still on stock motor, or junk throw away motor, get one thats rebuildable.

Hm, thanks for the responses. Yes it's a RTR wraith with the stock motor, running 2s (I believe) lipo's. |

You could detach the motor and set it in a cup of water and run it. See how much dirt comes out and do this multiple times. Try different battery. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

If you run the motor in a cup of water and are going to use it after make sure you blow it out and oil the bearings good

After a run in water just run it for 30 seconds. I've never worried about cleaning a single bearing or after care. What's gonna break is gonna break regardless. You can faff to much over an expendable item.

Ok sorry been on a bit of a hiatus with the R/C thing, it's mostly a hobby when I'm bored and today I am bored! So I'm going to just try the water cup thing, though I usually always blow the dirt out of the motor and stuff after I use it. Guess I'll start there, and worst case new motor. I wouldn't mind having a little more power/speed even if it comes at the expense of breaking things. So maybe brushless? From what I read if I did this I would need to replace me ESC anyways, so that would most likely solve all my electrical problems? |
