| Having some Wraith issues!
Hey guys, I need some help. I recently bought an Axial Wraith RTR and I have only had it out a few times. The first couple times out everything seemed ok. Today when I took it out it seemed slower than normal and I had to keep pulling the trigger to get it to go. It seemed to be stalling almost. When I would go to climb something it would stall. If I reversed the thottle it seemed to surge in reverse quickly but then stall also. I'm using a Duratrax 7 cell 3000 mah nimh 8.4v battery. Please help!

Sounds like you might be hitting LVC. The other thing is that the stock motor and gearing isn't really that well suited for bashing. You'll want to gear down from the 20t pinion to a 14 or so. The motor might also be pretty dirty by now. Pick up some motor cleaner at the hobby shop and give it a good spray and re-oil the bushings. If you've been driving it a bunch then it may just need a little maintenance. |

You also should check for binding. Loosen the motor so that the pinion doesn't engage the spur gear. You can then turn the spur gear to make sure everything is moving freely. If not then you need to find out where it is binding.

When your batteries drop to a set voltage, the speed controller will cut out power to the motor to help avoid draining them to far.

I changed battery packs from the 7 cell 8.4 3000mah nimh to a 6 cell 7.2 2000 mah and it seemed to be running fine. Could it be the other battery pack wasnt charged fully or that it is faulty?

What pack connectors?? If Tamiya, go to at least Deans. You "may" have a cell dieing in the 1st pack, thus dropping the pack voltage too low. Try to charge it up & test again. |

Thanks for all your help guys. I'm going to take the battery pack back to the hobby shop and see if they will replace it.
