| Just got my wraith poison spider
Just got my Wraith poison spider from Amain, put a battery on it, fried the motor within 20 minutes of crawling. And it was very easy crawling. My sawback could do it. So any idea's? This a common problem? I'm also not a fan of how chincy it feels, between the links, steering links, steering servo etc. |

Axial is dumb and gears them too high from the factory. The spaghetti links are just meant to be cheap and to last long enough for you to take it out of the box and drive around for a while. There are a whole bunch of replacements available ranging wildly in cost from DIY for $10 to $100 for fancy bent titanium kits. |

Call Axial and get a free replacement. They replaced my servo 2nd day I had my wraith, no questions asked, here in 2 days. Sure the replacement motor will be the same crappy 20t, but its free and you deserve it considering you just bought it.

Axial responded quickly to one of my emails on an issue I was having with my Wraith, I was pleased with their customer service and they offered to fix my Wraith under warranty.. too bad I'm from Trinidad and shipping back tot he US would be difficult / costly for me. I am looking to upgrade my gearing soon, hoping to increase the life on the stock 20T.. |

I fried mine in about the same time also, I had bought a Axial 27t also when I bought it and put it in. I'm running a HH 27t Torquemaster Pro now with 56/12 gearing on 3s.

I didn't expect it to last TOO long. but not even a single full battery and it was already dead was kinda BS IMO.. I wanna upgrade this thing an make it bullet proof. but I just bought a new Fullsize crew cab tow rig for my real 1:1 race cars, so hobby funds are shifting. | |

Still have yet to hear anything back from Axial. The purchase of this has been bitter sweet.

That's cool, from what I've read, Axial has been good about standing behind their stuff.

I got a new poison spyder wraith from tower hobbies, and ran it one time on a light rock trail. Its motor and esc actually started smoking really badly, so I called the axial support line, and they sent me out a new motor and esc. Their support is actually top notch in my book. As for the wraiths gearing, it is setup for more speed, than actual torque for crawling. Hence the idea of it being a rock racer style truck. I did redo the gearing on mine as well, and since then, Ive not had any instances of heat or lack of power to crawl properly. Id regear yours, and see where you stand. |

I changed the gearing in my daughts wraith to 14/87 with the stock motor and it has lasted three years. Yes i do believe this is unusual for the stock motor to last this long but i am not complaining.

How slow is it with that 87/14 gearing?

Very slow with the 87/14, pending the motor. Lots of torque tho.
