The search everything answer certainly kills peoples joy of a forum. This thread should give something: cheap or free mods that work well |

In Harley's "Poison Spider Wraith budget build" videos he did a couple of free mods, but they were more geared to after you had been running the truck for a while. Check out the series. It is full of good ideas. And welcome to the madness...lol |

Cage mods are probably the cheapest and easiest to do. A must mod would be moving the battery forward.

| Re: Free wraith mods I second this!!! There are "many" free mods that can be done, and do work. Biggest one that works the best is: Run it to death and have a blast!! Wraiths are like cats, and love to play!! Enjoy, Ron

I just bought a wraith spawn and was looking to do some mods and saw the battery forward mod, but heard in a video that unless it's a dedicated crawler it's not the best mod to do. What are the thoughts on this. Sent via smoke signals |

Yup this forum thrives on posts and members. Man it would be scarey if harley was the only one posting and we as members could on search his thread because we all know that everything wraith has been covery there. Alot can also be learned about rc in general on rc groups and others. Airplane and heli guys know there shit. Last edited by evan03; 01-07-2015 at 06:29 PM. |

| Re: Free wraith mods Its each to their own. I ran mine for ages with the Bat in the rear and it still climbs and trails well. Shifting the weight though may get you over the one obstacle in ten that it fails on. If you intend on hitting a lot of very steep angle where the truck is falling backwards then its a good idea to move it.

Mr. E, I recently got a Spawn and did the forward battery mod. It made a considerable difference in climbing. The only bad part is having to remove the body to remove the battery.

| Re: Free wraith mods Some folks use rare earth magnets to hold the body on and make removal easier, while others cut the hood off completely and install it back hinged with body pins and posts to hold it down.

I say battery forward for a trail rock rig. Leave the battery in the rear for a jumper basher only rig. Or possibly central mounted for best flight characteristics Last edited by evan03; 01-09-2015 at 02:40 PM. |

So how do you mount the battery up front? I started looking at mine while tearing into it some to change the battery connections and the wires off the esc go into the electonics box are tight and cant hardly move it anywhere let along mount it in the back. |

If you pull the radio box apart there will most likely be a bunch of wire coiled in the box. To keep everything nice and tidy. There should be enough slack to move the esc. When I initially moved my battery forward I moved the radio box to where the battery was and made it look like a tool box or cooler. Then put the esc where the radio box was.
