Default Wraith motor overheating

Hi I just got a wraith and I'm having problems with the motor overheating. I just got a new integy 55t new dynamite esc and new 2s lipo. I've checked for binding and everything spins freely. I also have voodoo u4s with crawler foams which I think could be causing to much drag and cussing to much stress on the motor. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

What gearing are you running? Have you broken the motor in?

When I get a new motor I use a light load for approx. 5-10 minutes after assembly. Same goes for a rtr rig. In my opinion it makes the motor last longer because it seats the brushes. Not so important with the brushless motors.

I doubt the tires and such have any effect on your temps.

Check your gear mesh, and you should probably change the spur and pinion.

Because he posted it in the first post. Or are you just asking how to check for an overheated motor in general?

I might ask the same question. What was the motor temp?

A good temp gun is a very handy tool in the rc hobby.

If you can't hold a finger on the motor its to hot.

I like motors to run cool 90s-120 . It's hard to run 90s on the summer time when outside temp is 105.
