Default Motor Spinning Backwords

Hey guys, running AE-2 in the wraith. Was running stock 20T. got a new Holmes 13T and when i got everything hooked up forward was reverse and reverse was forward. I though motor wires backwords... not sure I guess. I just switched the switch to reverse the throttle channel on the radio. I had Holmes but wires on motor and put black to black and red to white on the AE-2. I am not sure if they are equal 50%/50% forward reverse. I have advanced 7° timing on the 13T so I hope its not going the wrong direction for the truck. any thoughts would be appreciated. Also not sure if it matters but I am running the SCX10 Hot Racing Transmission. I assume it's outputs rotate the same direction as the stock wraith trans. I am not sure if I can just swap the motor wires and flip the switch back or if there is a better solution.

Thoughts...

If you have the timing advanced then you need to make sure that it is spinning the correct way to get the best performance.

You can reverse the rotation of the axles by flipping the ring gear over in the pumpkin. Very simple mod.

ok well i would assume that it would turn the same way as the stock motor.... as I had to reverse the motor after I swapped the motor.. how do i find out which way it needs to be going?

I just set it up on blocks advanced the throttle trim until everything was spinning. popped the cap off the pinion cover. the gears when looking in the spur is spinning clockwise. the drive shafts are spinning counter clockwise and the wheels driving forwards

Need someone to explain the forward and reverse rotation motor deal.

Super easy fix.

well, I understand i can flip the gears but I have 7° timing on my motor from Holmes and just swapping the gears will give me -14° timing in forward which I think I have going on already with my transmitter switch flipped to reverse it

You should be able to change the timing on the motor fairly easy by rotating the endbell.

I understand that as well. I am trying to figure out what way it should be spinning in the first place. many ways to tackle a problem and the first is knowing what is actually causing the problem

By looking at the end bell the motor is spinning clockwise while moving forward. would that be normal rotation or reverse?

Normal rotation for Rc electric motors would be counter clockwise looking at the shaft from the shaft end of the motor.
