Default Toe out ?

On the Wraith. Do You run 0* or what ?

I've added a 2.5mm spacer to my tierod and got enough you can definitely see it but not like a 2wd fast buggy amount.

Do you toe and if so does it help with a dual purpose rig like ours ?

Unless you run zero ackerman knuckles I run toe out, get a little bit more steering angle from my experience. Just my .02 cents.

Hmm...Interested in this because in Real jeep life you want to run IN 1/8 inch. So I set mine up in one half turn, not saying thats what you do, but also interested others' opinions on this subject.

I've tried toe in, toe out, positive, neutral and negative caster, stock knuckles, positive, negative and zero Ackerman by making my own arms.

Toe in? Not useful. Does not seem to aid stability or enhance tracking at any speed. Granted I have not surpassed 11 MPH yet

Toe out? Seems better overall. Better at speed, better in the loose stuff, better turning, better straight line tracking. I have no idea why. Seems completely bassackwards.

By far zero ackerman arms on the knuckles have been the most important tweak. Not only does this seem to work well crawling it also works better at speed in the loose stuff than stock. On asphalt probably not.

I am still debating on caster. For crawling you want the kingpin inclined back a fair amount...more than you would want IRL 1:1 for sure. But this negative caster has an unfortunate influence on how the vehicle side hills and recovers when on its side. Lately I've been leaning toward FOFF type running and I find that just the slightest bit of negative caster is useful for turning in loose stuff. Again this seems bassackwards. Road vehicles run positive caster. In loose stuff at speed positive caster seems to make the steering less effective...but it does seem to work better for righting the vehicle when it is heeled over on its side.

This is from running my AX10s so it should relate to your rig.

A slight toe out on all my rigs, coupled with some positive caster.

Not even close. Unless tire wear and straight line tracking on a freeway is a concern. Flexy plastic moving all around, locked differentials and seriously soft, wobbly tires makes it practically pointless in that regard. The best reason to play with it is for getting the most steering out of both sides in both directs. As in full throw from both knuckles while turning. Most of my trucks have quite a bit of toe out do to less than perfect/backwards Ackermann geometry. Axials were really bad until zero degree Ackermann knuckles came out.

Caster came around in the TLT days with aftermarket C's from Fat Rock. Pretty much just to get the pinion pointing up instead of parallel to the ground. Then we started noticing some kingpin inclination would help getting the tires to reach for ledges a little better. I can't quite recall where why who or when the indexed C Hubs came around but that's the best idea yet.
