Default Electronic problem

My Wraith developed a new problem today when I first started it up.
The throttle is acting strange. Give it forward throttle and it hesitates and doesn't have brake.
Give it reverse throttle and it will continue to drive backwards slowly even after I let the trigger go.
Anybody have a problem like this before?
Help please!

What type of ESC and is it a brushed or brushless motor? Sounds like you might need to reprogram your throttle endpoints.

It is the stock ESC that came with it and I am using a brushed motor.

Here's a good post on the Axial blog for re-calibrating the ESC.

Keep us posted

So I followed the steps on the link you provided and it seems to have worked! Thank you!
Still wondering why this happened in the first place though?

I'm just glad to be of help

As to why it occurred in the first place is difficult to say. I do a lot of troubleshooting for a living and when something odd happens once I put an x in the 'shit happens' box. If it keeps happening then it's likely an indicator of a bigger problem and worth looking into further.

If the ESC was fried it probably would have let out it's magic smoke!

I'm guessing you bumped the throttle trim knob on the transmitter off its neutral setting a bit to reverse.
The esc needs to see a neutral signal from the receiver to activate the drag brake, sounds like it wasn't seeing enough to trigger the brake.

I bet that's it! I forgot that the Axial stock radio trim controls are the knob style and easy to bump off center. My wife did that on her Yeti steering trim and couldn't figure out why it would only turn right!

You might want to find the center of that throttle trim and re-calibrate the ESC since probably calibrated to an off-center position. It won't hurt anything as-is but anytime you calibrate end points you should start with trims at 0.

The radio has a cover for all the trim controls so I don't think I messed with any of them but I do remember my radio falling off the back of my truck the last time I was running it so maybe that did something.
Thanks for all the help and tips guys!
