The cost of the Holmes ESC is great and it also saves you some coin by not requiring an external BEC. The only reason I don't use them for my setup is size reasons.

I am not a fan of the wheels that are under 1" wide, not even the VP's. I think 1" is a perfect width. It's all personal prefernce of course, but as a general concensus I think most top drivers run something close to 1" for what it's worth.

how about some bugget oreinted servos that us poor people like me can afford!

One nice thing about the XR10 and it's wide front axle and 8 degree king pin angle is the lack of scrub steer. This means that it can be easier on servos. Things like a longer front steering arm (the piece that bolts to the knuckle), can make a cheaper servo work well enough to get you by.

The CS170 is a good deal for the money but I can see how $89 is still hard to do. Servo's are something that I hate to see people skimp on but if it is just not in your budget there are still some decent options. Stay away from the crap servos like the CKRC brand/Tower Pro/etc. These are simply a waste on a comp truck. If you seriously drive your truck these will fail quickly.

I have been hearing good things about the new Savox servos BUT HAVE NOT PERSONALLY USED ONE YET.

i haer what your sayin!
i think i was running the weakest servo at the MO crawl offs!
think the cirrus i have now is pushin about the same as the Savox and it was only $21, but i think its losing some power, i guess ill have to save up for a good hi-tec or Futaba, but im kinda partial to my Hi-tec stuff!

• Tekin FXR x 2

• Castle Creations BEC
• Futaba S9157 or BLS152 Servo
• Hotbodies Rovers (white) or Sedonas
• Vanquish 1” SLW’s with 225 offsets (can substitute Dirty Harrys up front)
• MaxAmps 3s 1100 Lipo

Budget friendly suggestion:
• Futaba 3PMx
• Holmes Hobbies BR-XL ESC
• RC4WD Rocker Dig or Punk RC Dig
• Hobbico CS170 Servo
• Hotbodies Rovers (white) or Sedonas
• Holmes Hobbies 35t TorqueMaster Sport Motors
• MaxAmps 3s 1100 Lipo
Are you going to set up both? I noticed you had mentioned in your first post about showing programming for the 3PM. I'm interested in seeing the difference between using the 3PM and the 4PK that I've already watched in your vids.

I was thinking of using the single ESC/elec. dig option. Not sure whether I would really need the 4PK unless running dual ESC's. I know I'd loose alot of functionallity between motor power mixing, but I would like to see the 3PM programmed for duals to compare the two.

Yes I will be doing a very detailed setup on both setups as well as a stick radio setup.

The 3PMx will not be setup with dual ESC's though. It will be a single ESC and a dig switch.

When the new Futaba 4PL is released I will also be doing a dual ESC demonstration for that radio.

Will the 4PL be a new model replacing the 4PK? Or is it a new series all
together?

It is an all new model that will be more affordable but not have all the features of the 4PK. I can't go into detail exaclty yet on what it will and will not have though I have been working with the guys at Futaba on it for quite awhile now and they have been great. I'm sorry for the limited info we can give right now. Hopefully Jason with Futaba will give us the green light on everything very soon!

Well it depends on the rain and everything. Tomorrow is bike night so if I have any free time I will probably be riding. Otherwise I plan on crawling this weekend for sure. You going to be in town or heading back to STL? .....or I could just text you like you said.

Body has it's second coat of paint drying now. That's correct you read it here....I used TWO coats of paint this time!

Skinz will be applied as soon as the body dries. I am preheating the oven now to help speed this along.
