Racer, can you provide specs on your axles? What Gears are you running, Axial/VP/RC4WD parts etc. You seem to have a nice mix match of VP toppers and stock transmission cases.

Now: VP Motorplate ( bearings look beefier like the RC4WD) Case Stock Axial Case Cover RC4WD Delrin RC4WD Gears With this its a saving of 12g (0.42oz) per Axle. if you switch to the RC4WD plate, another 5g its possible. but i think beefier is better Next will be to loofa for some lightning in the Gears. So I did a search but nothing definitive showed up... What or how do you set up your SCX shocks? I know I have had a lot a people say they like to leak. So I was wondering if you could share how you set up yours?

I thought that's what most were doing. I don't drive a lot so maybe I can just deal with the leaking... Or I may have to try the replacement bladder and breather hole trick. Thank for the info!

| Re: Racer`s Y-Town Agent 86 I tried Krawlfreaks suggestion too. Teflon tape at the bottom shaft seal cap, and pack said cap with gearscience. They barely leak at alll.

Its Time for some News of my Agent. After Shamrock i`ve done some Modifications and the feel really good. Here the Result : 1. Place at indoor Competition and CUP winner of the Wintercup ( 2x first 1x 3rd) And After this i was doing some weight savings ( with a lot of the VP stuff on it exept Rear lockouts and Gearcases. and still with the RC4WD gears) 3LB 13.9 oz And here the Balance , feels really good. and with 2oz of Knuckleweights per side it moves forward about 1/4" direct in the Center of the Skid screw. And the taller VP mount is beneficial because it increases the vertical link seperation, which is pretty minimal on a stock XR. Most guys are also running a 3mm or 1/8" spacer to raise the VP mount even higher. The vertical seperation on the axle needs to be greater on the XR because most current comp chassis' upper link options are designed around this greater link seperation and tuning is critical. If you ran a stock link mount and a current comp chassis you probably would have a wonky handling truck as it woud probably have way too much front end squat. | ||
