Those are 540 sized.

550's will likely give you many headaches with tolerances between your links, servo and shocks.

Possible, probably. Good idea, not really.

So like I was thinking running a traxxas evx2 esc with 2titan 12turn 550 motors also made but traxxas. I know there won't be dig options and 12t isnt a lot of torc. Don't bash that. But would it fit?

I dont think it will fit without at least bending a lower link. I was going to try some old kyosho magnetic mayhem 550s. And they wouldn't fit. They have a standard endbell which would be more clearance.

Like I said, there will be interference issues. It is possible but not a good idea. Get 540's.

those traxxas 550's are to long and would not be worth the extra effort to modify the links and mount points to make them work. But if you choose to try it let us know how it works for you

I'm running Tekin 45T hand wounds in my xr10. They leave barely enough clearance for the links. I really think you'd be better off with a good 540 Brood or HH. Don't try to grab that extra performance on the cheap by going with a longer 540 can size. Even if you have the motors just lying around, it's probably not worth the headache.

I'm at work right now, but I can put up a pic showing just how little space there is with even a smaller 540 can, if you think it would be helpful. Lmk

550 are simply too long....they are just not really made for most MOA trucks. There are other ways you can increase torque in a 540...

And for the record, I do sell a 550......called the Stump Humper, been on the website for a couple months now.

Here are a few pics posted on here in build threads to show you but these do not use stock links

Here is a stock link setup

as you can clearly see there is not a lot of room for a bigger motor and those 550 titans are quite a bit longer. All 4 pics came right from this site so go ahead and look around and judge for your self but they are not a good motor for crawling. Like I said earlier if you really want to try them then let us know how it goes.

here are some huge pics

Traxxas Titan 12T Can Length: 57.5mm (according to RCPlanet)
Tekin T45 Pro can length: 51mm (according to my calipers)

In order to install a 550, you'll likely need to
1. relocate the shocks
2. fashion custom bottom links to bend around the side of the motors
3. do other unforseeable things that always pop up mid-project.

You might try taking a more submissive tone if you want pics posted by the more senior members who didn't volunteer it. Not me of course, I'm just a noob. I'm sure your demanding tone was unintentional though

You're really looking in the wrong direction. The XR is not going to double duty like that. If you want something like a wraith, get a Wraith (or Ridgecrest).

The XR isn't perfect in just the kit form. It will take a few upgrades to get it where it needs to be to stay together and even then stuff will still break.

Boston, I think you should try it; just use different motors. There are plenty of other options out there that fit easily and probably have a better balance between torque and speed anyway. Dig around the forums to see what others have done. You might find it's a terrible idea or you might learn from those that came before you.

what is it you don't like about the wraith? What are you looking for? Just something different? Unique? Fast? Versatile? The people here are a bunch of dicks, but they'll soften up and help after they've had their way with you.
