Default XR10 VP Gear plate

Is there. A shim that supposed to go between the idler gear and the bearing to keep the gear from running the button head screw? I'm sure it would wear a groove into it but I don't want to start a brand new build like this.

It is very common to have that issue. Everyone just removes a bit of material from the screw head to make it clear
