Default Body legality question

Have a trimmed pro line baja bug body on the stock XR chassis, overall pleased with the performance after some tuning. My one mistake is cutting too much off the rear of the body and now the hood extends too far forward. I could redrill body mounting holes and move it back some but curious if it is legal to add some material to the rear and trim more off the front. I doubt it is but figured its worth asking.

Thanks for any advice

You can mod the body any way you want, as long as it fits the dimensions. But if your additions fall off during a run, your body could be deemed out of spec middle run which would be a DQ.

Just food for thought.

Doesn't this just force a 10 pt mechanical?

My plan would be to add a 1" extension at the rear, cut to go around the sides of the upper link mount, and bent up as to not hit the axle on compression. This way I can trim the same amount from the hood. I would attach the extensions with glue and bolts along the entire back edge of the body.

I can certainly make another body but this would be prefered over trying to make the "engine compartment" of the Proline body work.

I don't think either end of the body has to be a certain distance from the center of the truck. 12.5 inches total length should do.

Not worried about distance from center, trying to maintain the 12.5" total. If I remove material from the hood I would need to add the same amount to the rear as I am currently at 12.5"

Thanks again for all the info and advice!
