Dude, the length is 2" longer than the minimum and the width I think is over and inch wider! I don't think that's pushing it!!! As a matter of fact my rig looks a lot more scale with my mini body instead of the bjv4 cab!

His body is as big or bigger than a bodiless cab.

but the bodiless truck was made to look like a tuber style truck. with a mini body it looks like a gokart body on a s10 frame.

i dont care what any body runs .i just look at all the dumb shit that was said about a slider in the rules sec. i just dont see them letting this fly.
thought the hole deal with this was we were tring to make the look like something real

like i said i myself dont care hell we can run without a body at all

Rig looks good. Looks VERY good.. And I like your choice of a body.
As soon as I can get some time in the basement and some $$ to order a few more parts, I will have a DD chassis attached to some bergs. Going to try for that 4lb or less mark. Keep your fingers crossed boys and girls.
I need to dig in to the new ruls for bodied rigs again to make sure my idea will work. I found a body that was within the old rules, but might not be good for the new ones.
Keep up the good work and great info.

So you say.
I'll just say that it wasn't a "conventional crawler" body and it was going to require some creative cutting to make it work.

Sorry for the thread jack..

Is there a copy of the new body requirements some where?

Any body that was legal before will be legal now.

8" overall length, 3" overall width, and 3" overall height.

I got a little more time on the rig yesterday evening and decided to throw the knuckle weight setup from my Shafty rig on this one to get an idea what I was working with. Those weights are set up with around 3.5oz per side. With that much weight it was doing several things that I didn't like. Most noticeably the front was washing out on sidehills where it stuck like glue without the weight (same sidehill). As always more weight lends itself to finding every hole on a course...nothing different here. The other effect that became obvious was loss of control on descents.

I should have some goodies showing up in the next day or so to help tune it a little better

I slacked off on updating like I said I would and still haven't taken any pictures worth sharing, but I did get some new parts. I picked up a set of knuckle weights and holders from RCBros and am currently running 3oz on each side up front. The rest of the Axial machined gears showed up also so I threw them in the front and rear housings. I had planned on trying to drill them out a little...especially on the rear, but I didn't have a great way to hold the gears with the tools I have available so I opted to skip that step for now.

With the knuckle weights and the new gears the RTR weight is 4lbs 1oz

Next up I'd like to find replacement spacers for the ones included in the chassis kit that are lighter. I believe the stock ones are steel...but if my eyeballed measurements were correct some of them were 7mm which I haven't been able to find yet...at least not in Axial spacers. Still looking for a good option. I do have some carbon tube...

I've only run it on my backyard setup so when I get a chance to get it out on some familiar natural rock I'll be able to fine tune how much weight it actually needs.

If you jump over to Yoshi's thread you'll see he mentions weight in his front housing, then runs DH wheels with 4 slugs, and I believe he may have even mentioned some weight on the rear axle as well.

Thanks...and that's why I decided to pick one up. I needed something to keep me motivated to figure it out...or at least attempt to

Would you mind showing how you mounted the the hub to those wheels? I was thinking of using those buggy wheels as well but wasn't sure how you cleared out the ribbing of the wheel to fit the hub.

Thanks!
