It's been a long time coming and I finally found myself in a situation that I could put one of these together. The parts are starting to show up so I figured I'd go ahead and get started so this is a build thread rather than a built thread. I've got all the parts on the way and I'm planning on having it built by Thursday evening of this week as long as everything shows up in time. The first parts to show up are the BRXL's and Robitronic R17002 Servo Horns. I also built up a set of Moab-Rovers last week while I was still dreaming of super parts. Anybody for pancakes? |

Well nothing major in the mail today...but I did get the pieces to make my "receiver bypass adapters" I prefer to use these so that I can leave the correct ends on the BEC and Servo leads for programming. These adapters use 20 ga wire so any power loss is very minimal. The molded plug has two female Futaba style outlets so any type of servo connections can be used. I leave the black wire attached for two reasons...one it helps to keep the plug in the Rx to have two terminals instead of just the signal wire, and I just prefer to keep things grounded which helps in several areas. I've been running one of these (shortened of course) on my berg for a while now and have been really happy with it. In the past I had always used a cut down Y Harness but they get messy with all of the wires. I'll shorten them as needed and put heat shrink over the two wires to clean them up even more. |

| Not a problem buddy...I'm sure she'll get passed around! We'll probably need people to drive it and/or Sterling's or Matt's super rigs so we have enough people in at the comps to run the super class! I didn't think we'd have a problem getting someone to drive them if they are there. |

I'm glad to see some Carolina guys building Supers! I tried to get a Superclass going; but it seems like nobody is interested up here. Maybe I can make it down to SC for one of your comps. Oh yeah... Looks like you have a great start with those parts. What chassis are you planning to run? |

Yeah it's about time we have some super rigs in this part of the country! Our first comp of the 2012 season will be in Columbia, SC which I believe will be a great place for supers...lots of big boulders and ledges. The next one will be up around Caesar's Head. Both of those are right at 3.5 hours from you in Mt. Airy. The chassis is a "secret" but it should be here tomorrow or Thursday. |

Once again waiting on the little white panel van is killing me! I'm really looking forward to getting this built and running it a couple times before the 2011 Turkey Crawl |

Now where'd you find these 45mm red aluminum posts? I need one more...and I'm gonna pick up some various size spacers. I'm assuming the hex links are threaded to 4mm...not 8-32? What size spacer do I need between the chassis, lower link rod end, and skid cross braces? If I measured correctly it looks like a 7mm. Last edited by ittybitty; 09-01-2011 at 11:18 AM. |
