Default sway bar is done

so I made a sway bar. its adjustable. works as it should, front wheel pull up for 2' then lays down, tire only comes off the ground bout 2'' the car stays straight. I can adjust it about 2'' from the rear of the bar to the front. so softer set up to stiffer set up... I can also adjust the rods shorter or longer, if needed..

This is a pretty good idea. Simple too. Seems like a necessity if you are going to run 6s.

Are the ball ends with the set screws a traxxas part?

I have no clue. found some on e-bay that would fit the size wire we were using. (or as close as we could) came in a kit for about 2 bucks.. bent up the music wire, (home depot) installed work like a champ.. hope this helps..

I can confirm that this method works great. I made a similar one before seeing this thread but I did not bother moving the shocks back.

Things improved even more when I made a front sway bar too. Just as cheap using thinner music/piano wire and spare parts I had laying around. The front is a bit trickier though because there is not much room up there but rollovers are dramatically reduced.

I went to my lhs for parts for a rear sway bar but the guy couldnt find anything good.

I would like to know wich traxxas rod ends are those ?
The balls with set screws ?
And how did you joint the two rod ends together ? Total lenght ?

And how does the piano wire is attached to the chassis ?

Sorry for so many questions but i need help !

Thanks

Ok, so here's what I put together so far. Haven't tested anything yet still have some adjustments to make. The music wire is pushed through a section of the chassis I drilled through. I'm ordering threaded collars one for each side of the chassis connection to keep it tight (since I replaced the screws with music wire). I'm also ordering longer standoffs to heighten the sway bar rod connections. Links to the parts I used below.

Traxxas ball rod ends

Mcmaster-carr threaded standoffs

Mcmaster-carr cup point screws (to connect rod ends to standoffs)

K&S 2.5mm music wire

Thanks! I thought I'd try to mount closer to the axle for more leverage and see how that works. Hope to test it out in a few days and when I do I'll let ya know how it works out.

Cool, have you got any video of the XL running with the sway bar set up? How do you guy's think a 5ive-t sway bar would go?

I haven't done any vids at all yet though one day I hope to. Not sure about the 5ive-t, but I did see RustenPaines posted a thread showing how he installed an HPI baja 5 kit. That thread is here.

Roughly measure the rear bar on the Losi is about 9 -9.5 inches and the front a little over 6". Looks like you need about 7" for the yeti xl, right?
