| Grease from transmission?
I've got about 4 packs through this kit. I've noticed there is what looks to be some grease around the spur gear. It's splattered around the chassis and spur cover. Wondering if anyone else is seeing that and if normal? Also, it looks like the spur shaft does move in and out just a mm or two. I did check to make sure the plug was in the transmission. It is. Thoughts? |

oh no.......you need to call Axial fast! I'm kidding! Sounds like you just have a little too much grease on the transmission gears and its working its way out through the input shaft. You may want to clean it up and remove any excess grease from the transmission gears before it gets on the slipper surface and creates a nightmare of slippage. the shaft moving in and out is normal - I think you're good. Just clean up after yourself! hehe Last edited by redsawacs; 04-15-2015 at 01:54 PM. |

Funny, the slipper started to slip a bit more since the grease came out. I'll clean it up and run it again to seeing that's the cause. Thanks!

use some electric motor spray on the slipper surface or you may be able to wash the aluminum with dawn dish washing liquid..... https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5mCbg2jV7M8 |

Yup. Had grease on the slipper. Just one side, so the other side was worn pretty good. Now I know if it happens again to clean it right away. Thanks for the input!!

Mine slipper started acting up today and i guess i overfilled the tranny. Grease was all over the aluminum pads. They look scored but they are not after the first cleaning. I'll order some up but run what i have for now after my final clean. |

I flipped mine over after that incident. No issue since now that the excess grease is gone.

I had experienced grease from the tranny so I disassembled the slipper and cleaned it with brake clean. I then installed a o-ring on the output shaft before reassembling and that has worked great from keeping the grease from passing thru to the slipper.
