| Steering Slop
Hey everyone, I'm getting more time to mess with YXL (and my RR10 build) and had previously noticed quite a bit of front end slop. After getting to take it out again I've decided it's definitely too much and needs addressing. Has anyone else experience this? I've got the kit version with an aluminum horn and the kit (aluminum) links. What in it could be getting worn out to allow it? If I grab one of the wheels and hold the other one steady I can still move the one quite a bit left to right. Thanks for any help! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

the plastic pivot balls allow for a bit of wiggle as does the plastic bellcrank

I knew I forgot to mention an upgrade! The bell crank is DHawk. I've got some of the metal pivot balls but I'll look to get the rest to replace them all! Do you think it click be the rod ends or the plastic c hubs and what-not? I can't really pin-point what is allowing it when I move it around Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

MY XL kit has Dhawk bell crank Hot racing knuckles and carriers There is slop in mine coming from the plastic balls no doubt. Especially the camber links. I also notice a little vertical play in the dhawk bell crank but nothing of concern. |

| Re: Steering Slop To fix vertical play get TRAXXAS washer #3982. They go over steering posts and tighten up vertical slop I use em on my DHAWK steering posts and work great.

Any videos of yalls slop? I'm curious what y'all are working with compared to what I've got. If I have it upside down and give it throttle the front tires (seems to be one side at any given time) will turn under hard throttle so I know it's loose in the steering and then it seems to have some play vertically as mentioned also Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

Been over a year since I finished my kit build still all original steering except for the DHAWK piece wich I installed at build time and all is good. I did install DHAWK metal pivot balls when I built the kit. I have a SMALL amount of slop but nothing that is a concern. I have no idea except maybe the plastic pivot balls.

Steve do you think the slop developed over time or has always been there? I figure there was/will always be some. I'll try replacing the pivot balls! Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |
