Start ignoring customers and you're on that slippery slope...

And just to add about the production comment, clearly that depends on the field you work in.
Not even remotely in the same ballpark. You have lives on the line, VP has toy cars.

Customer satisfaction and a completely perfect track record are very different things. I doubt your company has the latter.

I always aim for happy customers, but there is a limit. There is always a limit.

VP may very well send out replacements, but I would not think less of them if they dont. As I said, if you can't operate a $3 file, you should not own a Rc.

Well i'm sure we can agree to differ, that's the beauty of having one's own opinion; it's never wrong.

And yes, hence my saying it'll be interesting to see what they do. Such intrigue.

Yes it shouldn't have to be done, but who knows how particular their Tester was when they installed them. It fits, maybe they skipped checking for left/right clearances.
BT - so I had indeed already emailed them earlier today, and I just received the below response.

As I'd hoped, the team at VP are focussing their efforts on keeping their client-base happy. No company can simply buy loyalty or a positive reputation, but this demonstrates how it's earned.

"Hi
We had a batch of prototype steering racks get out to the public and we are in the process of correcting the problem and setting protocol to get them all back and you with the proper piece. We will announce details soon.
Thanks
Rob"

Superb.

Run, work in. Same thing, right?

Seems like a minor issue on a new part, for a new truck. Every auto manufacturer has multiple recalls every year, it happens.

It's cool they might do something, but after the 3 minutes I spent fixing the issue unless they make additional changes somehow, I'm not sending back my part to wait for another.

I'm happy mine is fixed, I'm happy they are working to help those who can't or won't do similar mods. I don't want to be down waiting though. I waited forever for the part I have, and as RockPileDriver mentions I'm perfectly happy to have spent 3 minutes to be running with it installed - these pieces are like printed money right now.

I apologize for being a dick earlier. Crappy day.

VP won't leave anyone hanging.

At the same time, there are far too many people lately that would rather make a federal case about a simple and easily corrected mistake than they would take a few minutes out of their lives and get their hands dirty to resolve it. Truly a downfall of a RTR world, which is not what this sport was built upon...

Not always. Your opinion is wrong.

Duuude, no worries mate, it's all good. And aye, I agree re. folks kicking off for naught.

Dextan, I'm overseas, I'm sure they'll figure it out. In the meantime just hand file it as BT suggested. Be careful though, don't go bonkers, it's not as precise as using a power tool!

Gaah! I'll use my trusty ol' dremel.

I went too far with the dremel to be honest....to see if I could get more throw. Sadly no, but there is really so much beef left it's not a problem. Looks like it was copied off the stock piece, which has to be beefy for the plastic, so in aluminum its extra beefy being so thick.

As others have stated, it's a simple fix with a dremel...took all of 3 or so minutes.

I've experienced great service with VP multiple times so I'm sure if someone wants a replacement they'll be happy to replace it.
