Default EighteenZero8 Yeti rear axle. Centered or Offset

Do you want the end of all rear Yeti axles? Then this is it!

7075 tubes
VP Currie center sections
13mm pinion bearings
Dlux truss
Tiny lockouts that house big 14mm bearings
Unbreakable 8mm shafts that use 2.5mm hex pins

These will be sold RTR to ensure super tight tolerances and proper assembly.

These axles would work great on the Yeti whether they are offset (like stock) or centered.

For prototype, instead of running really wide hubs, we opted to make the whole axle centered and wider than stock.

Some pics.

It definitely will be worth how ever long it takes Erik to get them too me.

I was irresponsible and spent a large chunk of my tax return on it, but the credit cards were zeroed out with my Christmas bonus. So I guess a little irresponsibility was due

Has anyone given a review of driving with a centered pumpkin vs an offset? I could see it going either way. On one hand I could imagine less torque twist due to leverage, but of course I thought the offset was really a reflection of the way that the other axial vehicles were set up and was not advantageous for any particular reason.

Beautiful looking product. That said, this is an RC product. You can buy a DANA 30 for the front a real jeep for 400 bucks:

Jeep Wrangler TJ 4 10 4 11 Gear Dana 30 Front Axle Assembly F2 | eBay

Here is a Dana 30 with 3.55 gears for $487.

Jeep Wrangler TJ 3 55 Gear Dana 30 Front Axle Assembly D3 | eBay

Others can be had for $350.

Just saying, that price could get you 2 full sizes axles with a differential. True, a new one is like 2,000, dollars and they are mass produced, but the price is extremely high.

I can do some comparisons when mine gets here. Is is done yet? lol (kidding Erik, I'm more than happy to wait)

Axial already has the molds for the AR60 axle, why create a new one when they can use what they have. Keeps production costs down.

Specifically for the Yeti I think a centered pumpkin will have the exact benefit you described.

Those are used, covered in rust, albeit surface rust, rust none the less. And they are stock parts, that on a 1:1 when driven hard will break just as easily as a stock AR60 will on our little toys.

The DLUX 1808 is a bullet proofed axle. It will take whatever abuse you could dream of throwing at it and beg for more. Plus custom made to order with your choice of length and materials.

Back to the 1:1's for a minute now. What is the cost of a fully loaded Rock Jock or Spidertrax? You can easily option them up to 9k per axle with all the goodies.

The DLUX 1808 is the fully loaded Rock Jock equivalent for the RC world. Expensive,YES! But fairly priced when you consider all of the machining, design, and testing that has gone into them.

I hear ya. And sure, those examples were not in the best shape. It just seems crazy to me that one axle, on one side of a Yeti 380 is $700 dollars. That is serious cash, and costs more than nearly every RC vehicle on the market, save the 1/5th scale stuff. Custom is always expensive, but heck, if someone sold 10 of those a month they are not doing too bad...

I have a bridge, it's all custom, in 1/10th scale form. You can drive your yeti on it, with it's special parts. I will sell it to you for... one BILLION dollars.

The profit margins are probably not as good as you are thinking. Materials cost, machine time, wear and tear, electric bill to keep machine running, etc.

And regarding the bridge, I have an amazing assortment of woodworking tools and am pretty handy with them! I'll make my own if I want one. lol

I was just trying to give an apples to apples comparison. Stock ar60 = stock Dana 30, DLUX 1808 = fully optioned currie rock jock 60. Price reflected accordingly!
