And charged the battery again. Or at least plugged it in until light turned green and it operated normal again for about 20 seconds and then slowly died. No burning electronics smell. |

Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) Emailed axial ...New servo on its way no question asked , they where very apologetic about its death lol But honestly after installing a full size servo I can't see me going back to micro. Sent from my SM-G935F using Tapatalk |

Long story short. It took a month of emailing, and me to remind the guy that "i never got my screws" before they shipped 'em. After that another week for them to show up. I also asked Hitec for some longer ones, and they actually sent me a link to a discontinued spektrum part number. I googled that part number, and found these. They are 15mm long. Cut to length. 8) i made sure and ordered 2 packs before posting this. 2 packs of 5 for $9.97 shipped. ;-) JRP980187 Socket Head Bolts, 2.3 x 15mm (5), V5NX - JR Helis and Multi Rotors In the vehicle in question (RC18R) i used an HS-5065MG which has the B1 Mini Spline (25 teeth) i believe this is standard for all hitec micro servo. here's a horn from servo city. I highly recommend ditching the servo saver. https://www.servocity.com/55707-mini...num-single-arm |

Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) [QUOTE=Poprivet;5636288]Hitec standard servos uses 2.6mm (2.5 will work). There micro servos use a 2.3mm. I had to contact hitec for a 2.3mm screw long enough to use the servo saver. Thanks poprivet. I have had no luck finding a screw and looks like I will probably have to contact Hitec. |

Servocity.com has always been my go to site for servo info. They have dimensions, spline counts, torque and speed specs on almost every servo on the market. |
Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) I read much earlier in the thread that the Team Associated turnbuckles and ball cups are a direct fit. Here's a pic. http://i869.photobucket.com/albums/a...psvzjeccfn.jpg I plan to swap the servo tie-bar out for a turnbuckle soon too. Edit: Try to fix orientation of photo... |
Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) Ordered! Thanks for that part number Chiphead. |
Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) Non Titanium parts for those wanting the lower priced option: Associated 21343 Associated 21387 Just ordered both part numbers above from Tower Hobbies for $10.87 including shipping. |

Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) A couple weeks ago picked up the rc18t turn buckles and installed them without issue. http://i37.photobucket.com/albums/e6...psswfvvzmw.jpg I see you guys are posting the T2's. They look similar however have open ball sockets which I like and seem to screw in a little further. |

Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) Yeti Jr has been a fun little truck. Bummer I had to upgrade all the electronics before I even got to drive it. Are you guys still contacting Axial about the issues? I really don't care that much. I would have changed the components eventually. I think it would be cool though if Axial gave those of us that purchased this first batch as the test guinea pigs priority, discount or heads up with there next mini release. I'm praying for a 1/18 Bomber. That would make it all right in my book. Sent from my iPhone using Tapatalk |

I'd buy an entire fleet of their current lineup if they were all offered as kits: Bomber, Wraith, and SCX10ii. |
Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) What do you mean if, those all are available as kits. |

Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) Well yeti jr showed up. Now let's see how long the esc last. Hobbywing esc is already on the bench ready to go |
Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) Axial is sending me a new battery, charger, and servo. I have a new spektrum servo to put in for when the existing one fails. Hopefully the new battery works better than the one it came with. Eventually i will be ordering some 2s lipos, but i'll probably wait until i replace the esc and motor anyway. |

FYI those were worked like garbage when i tried em on my dromida, bent in a couple runs of indoor flat carpet racing and cracked in half when bent back. If your going to bother i would suggest going with the titanium ones or figuring out a different way. |
Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) I've got some 3.5mm stainless rod and ordered a set of right and left handed m3 dies from China. It won't have the handy square for a little wrench but I'll be able to adjust them with a small set of pliers. The dies were a little over a dollar each and the rod I scored from work. I don't know the tinsel, but it's very stiff in short pieces. Stiff enough you need 2 vise grips to bend anything less than 6-8" long. |

Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) Huzzah mine worked out of the box. Was a freaking blast. Also noticed it had dirt in the top of the screws right out of the box. I suppose they are testing them before they are sending them out now. My daughter and I had a blast with it. Hope it holds up. |

Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) hello and thanks in advance. I replaced my Yeti Jr. trashed factory servo with Hitech HS-65MG. All is well but.......steering is reversed using my factory radio. I attempted radio adjustments per the manual now everything is reversed including Forward & Reverse direction...Hopefully I've overlooked something simple? Also, would someone point me to the supplier of what appears to be a flexible connector between the servo & steering linkage shown in a couple of pictures above. Thanks again ! |
Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) Steering linkage can be made from threaded rod (2mm, 2-56, or possibly 3mm) and ball cups from a losi mini (part losb1049) or team associated rc18 (part 21189) or something similar. Redcat sumo micro crawler rod ends fit too. The rod can be bent for clearance which may be necessary with a larger servo. The exposed threaded rod looks flexible. You can use a small turnbuckle from those vehicles as well. I didn't use the stock electronics so I can't help much there, is there a separate switch for reversing throttle and steering? |
Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) Thanks for pointing me in the right direction for the linkage. I couldn't locate a switch for the electronics, so I'll retrace my steps on that regard. Just hoping I didn't overlook something simple. I'm having a 'duh' moment at the moment  |
Re: Axial 1/18 Yeti (and Yeti Score) So, I went through the reversing throttle & steering steps, I managed to get things acceptable. On my first attempts I didn't notice subtle movement. Thanks for your patience "thumbsup" Skip |
