Question Mamba x Esc caught fire?

I have a yeti 1/10 scale, futaba tpv4 controller, mamba x esc, 3800kv motor, genss 5000mah 3s 50c battery, Savox digital servo, I calibratied the esc, hooked up everything, took it for a drive in the house, the esc light was flashing yellow. I don’t think that was right. I was driving it a poof the esc caught fire very crazy flames got the fire out. I’m new to the electric cars. Use to gas cars. Can someone shed some light on why it cause fire? Super bummed about this.

Could be so many reason, if you have your proof of purchase, I'd be straight onto Castle creations, with pics and so on. They should be able to help

Unfortunately things fail, but castle will look after you

I’m guessing a post came loose from thee , um...PCB? and caused it to short out, ooor you have a fuel leak to your pcb, and it caught fire...I know, I know, I’ll shut up now.

I had this same scenario happen to me with an RX8 Gen2. I was it the basement playing in the piled up dirty laundry and poof! there was smoke then a fire. It turned into a mad dash for my hockey gloves, and a dirty towel that wouldn’t be missed, and then a triple long jump back to my smouldering wraith, I nearly took my own head off when I got tangled in a clothesline on the second jump.

Tekin replaced it, but never sent me a note telling me what I did, or what they thought caused the fire.

My MMX went up in flames recently as well. I have no idea why and didn’t bother sending it in to CC. I lost my receipt shortly after purchasing it so I called my LHS and asked if they had a copy and to email it to me but they never did.

id still talk to castle, they should still replace it, everything has a serial number, so they should be able to track it. its 150 bucks, worth the 5min email!
