Man I would but gave Gordy my only running rig to finish up the interior and Mike is working on my ftoy and I just got my honcho out of the box to put back together. I don't think I'll have it ready this week. I want to change the electronics and motor in mine to run 3s :ror:

fvrr 09-21-2010 09:19 PM

Anyone interested in a night run over in Sonoma? It's a little ways out so I may be able to make sure I'm home that weekend if anyone else wants to go. http://www.rccrawler.com/forum/california/271085-nbrcc-jakes-performance-hobbies-flat-rock-get-together-oct-16th.html

Yeah it was nice to finally get out. Man there has to be a easier way to get pics from the phone to computer onto rcc  There were some really nice hard lines which I didn't get pics of but this is a killer place for scalers "thumbsup"

luv2ridemx 09-22-2010 04:55 PM

Thanks for posting the pic's Martin. had a great time. oak point rocks "thumbsup"

Big Bill 09-23-2010 05:23 AM

We're heading to the folsom tomorrow friday 10/1 around 9-9:30

day215 09-30-2010 02:34 PM

I'm still pretty new to RC's in general, but I got bit by the bug hard. I'd I'm not working on the quad in the garage, then I'm " playing with my toy car" as my wife likes to say. I haven't been to any comps yet, as I'm still a little unsure of what I'm doing. I stopped by capital city rc to check out the course but I haven't had a chance to stop by fast track hobbies yet. Does anyone ever get together in or near Elk Grove, it looks like most gtg's take place near Folsom. My son and I found a cool little spot near west Stockton Blvd bordering hwy 99, big retaining rock some covered by concrete, ledges and holes, a little bit of everything. If this belongs on a different forum, let me know, just wanted to see what's out there. I run an ax10 tvp/tuber, its not a scalpers and the custom links make it a little long to be comp legal, but its fun to drive. Thanks for reading, I'll keep my eye on this thread.

A work in progress, that brushless CC motor turned out to be a very bad idea.

The almost finished product, if there is such a thing.

fvrr 09-30-2010 02:49 PM

Hi there, Bill and Derek live in EG but I don't think they have found any place out there for scalers yet. Fast Track is moving to Rocklin, Cap city has regular comps as well as outdoor stuff in different areas. Yeah this thread is for scalers but if you just want to run and get a feel for your rig your more than welcome to run with us at folsom. If my friend comes out tomorrow I'll have her run a comp rig for her first time as it's harder to break :lmao:

day215 09-30-2010 03:36 PM

I manage to break my 2.2 with ease:mrgreen:, my 7 year old boy is the resident torture tester, if it has a weak spot, he'll find it. I haven't been to Folsom lake to crawl, could I get some general directions? We have a 3 week old newborn, but the wife wouldn't mind getting out of the house for awhile, just depends on how much sleep I get tonight. If anyone I'd interested in checking out this sports in Elk grove, let me know and we can meet up or I can shoot you some directions so you can check it out yourself.

I've only been there once so not sure exactly how to get to the spot. We are meeting at douglas and folsom auburn right past the am/pm around 9ish. All I know from there is head east on douglas to the lake, ($10 to access) drive through the gate and keep going straight or to the left looking for dottens point. PM me your # and I'll have gordon call or txt you with better directions. Here is what derek posted

I think I'm going to try out Beeks Bight this time, just stay on the main road, go past Dotons all the way to the end, I'm told the road just dead ends at BEEKS. If the area sucks we'll head back over to Dotons. theres some cool areas up top before you drive down the little dirt road to the lake.

day215 09-30-2010 05:24 PM

Ahhh, you gotta love Google! I have a pretty good idea of where it is, if I can make it out, I'll try to meet up at the am/pm, look for the Guy in the blue ram with the lost look in his eyes. Otherwise I'll see of I can meet you guys there. Is three a place for my wife to take our daughter for a walk in a stroller, she hasn't quite bought into the idea of me slapping some bfgs on it just yet.

Hi guys STILL out of town:evil:. There is some disscusion about National type Scale rules going on in the Competion section. Good reading and good ideas. I do have the scaler with me so Iam not completly out of the loop. I think some of the So. Bay guys have GTGs every once in awhile, I will have to check them out.

Hey Bill, yeah that thread is on fire! Put my 2 cents in about it will only satisfy 85% of the people :lmao:

Gordy and I went out to Folsom yesterday and met up with day215 (Daniel). Fun as usual. Daniel brought out his comp rig but we'll convert him soon :lmao:

Big Bill 10-03-2010 05:35 AM

On fire is right, I dont envy the guys who will be making the final rules up as you can not please everyone. It looks like I will be down here in San Martin for quite awhile, people who where going to buy our property and business lost their funding at the last moment:evil: Anyway my wife and I are going to stay down here to run the business ourselves, and sell the house in Elk Grove. I will catch up with you guys at some point but until then keep this thing going as it was too much fun.

day215 10-03-2010 08:42 AM

Trying to make me a convert ehh? I went home a shortened my wheelbase to 12.5" to make tires comp legal, I really didn't see that happening, so you never know when the dcaler bug might bite me. Again, thanks for having me out, I love that Folsom lake terrain! I'm taking my son to the caverns in calaveras today, and you had better believe the crawlers coming with us!

Don't know if that's good or bad? Hope everything works out for you guys. We'll keep in touch before next years nationals if your still up for going.

Haha Daniel, just kidding! I got rid of my comp rigs as scalers are just too much fun but each time I see a new comp rig makes me want to get another but not going to. Have ideas on another scaler as soon as I get these 3 finished :lmao:

luv2ridemx 10-08-2010 07:57 PM

Big Bill 10-09-2010 06:09 PM

brokennib 10-10-2010 11:14 AM

Boy, I have to say, this is a bummer, just as you guys are leaving the area, I should be moving to Lincoln by the end of this month. Hope there's somebody still around to play with !

fvrr 10-15-2010 12:03 AM

Finally back home on my computer. Couldn't post from my phone. Economy sucks I can't believe only 12% are unemployed

Hey Derek sorry to hear about the job situation. The night run last night was fun, not sure if I'd do it every week though. Gordy won peoples choice at the hobby shop $25 gift cert for his JK and my raffle ticket was the first one called at the site of a pro line tubeer for a ax10 which I traded to Gordy since I have a metal tuber :lmao: There were about 25 rigs I only took a few pics but there are a lot more pics on the event site. Link a few posts back up. BTW thanks to Jakes Performance Hobbies for hosting as well as Novak, Pro-Line, Maddog RC and V&G Crawlers for the raffle prizes.

Gordy and I are pretty much free during the week. PM me when your available and we'll go from there. We've gone out to Folsom Lake the last 2 times which was fun. Bill and Derek moved out of town so we are the only 2 who are trying to keep this scale thing going up here in Sac. :lmao: I think we had as high as 7-8 at fast track before they moved to rocklin which I think they are opening today but not sure on their rock course yet. Little drive for me to do on a regular basis. I'm going to the spot in american river canyon to see how it looks for scalers.

fa1rch1ld 10-18-2010 12:06 PM

Just LMK... I'm in Folsom, will bring my 2.2 and my scaler.
