Hello guys; planning a gtg Jan 18th in joshua tree if anybody's willing to commute up the hill for some technical trail fun. there'll be at least 100 gates both moderate & technical. All gates have been trail tested and are set to test your driving skills and rig. You won't be able to do them all! but don't be discouraged, you & your rig will love these super sticky rocks. so load up the car, bring the ice chest, grab your closest friends and lets go crawling! thought id invite you guys since we had such a good time at forrest falls

just an FYI

We're supposedly going to have the potential
for high winds on Saturday.

We may not know for sure...
until that day starts.

Regardless, we will be at Simpson Park on Sat. 01/24/15 @ 10am...
But if the winds are howling.
It is likely we won't be there for long.

If the wind is prevalent prior to 10am
We will likely cancel this g2g and make note of that
here and on our facebook page.

just sayin'

so be sure to check our postings
prior to coming out.

Just wanted to say thank you...
to all the folk whom came out today.

We were pleasantly surprised that our turn out
was better then we had expected.

We will also hope that you come join us again.

Here's some pictures I took...
not great mind you... but should offer some perspective.

Here is the "best of show" winner
whom received a Dynamic Hobbies gift certificate
for their efforts of bringing some realism to our gathering.

I'm not really sure what scale this rig is...
but it's bigger then the average 1/10th scale rig.

Looks great tho'... nice work

There were many other great rigs that deserve mention...

So tho' no other gift certificates were awarded on this day...
My honorable mention goes to this Chevy.

I can only hope that everyone whom participates in our group...
will make an effort to display/operate their crawlers
in a fashion that brings the utmost realism to our gatherings.

I'll attempt a more concentrated effort in awarding more gift certificates
to those whom invest in improving the details of their crawlers.

In the future... I will hope to include...
1st, 2nd and 3rd place "best in show" awards (gift certificates)
to those whom are selected by myself or our selected judging panel.

Well... as long as Bob of Dynamic Hobbies
will be supportive of my intentions.
And I believe he will

Anyways...
Some more random pictures of our g2g on this day...
Sorry if I missed anyone... I tried, but it's not easy.

From Lake View Trail, a view of Diamond Valley Lake.
and our participating crawlers.

BTW... I intentionally fell down in this location...
because the view is just so awesome !? LOL

Again...

thanks to all for coming out...
Was great to see many of the same folk
as well as new folk joining in.
Enjoyed sharing this trail with you all.

Please forgive me for failing to remember everyone's names.
Hopefully I will be able to improve upon that in the future.

----------------

oh and a special thanks to Mark Witt
for letting me borrow his Poison Spider crawler on this run.
It is basically a Wraith... and I was spoiled running it.
I had some issues with mine initially.
But then found out it was just a goof up on my part. doh

Thanks again Mark... Hopefully I didn't scratch it up too much !? Lol

prepare for my novel !? Lol

sorry about that Steve...

Our goal is to have two g2g's per month

So whence permanently established...

Our schedule will likely define
the 2nd and 4th Sat. of every month
for our g2g's

February is a short month...
so the 2nd g2g of the month would
require a premature scheduling to be fit in.

Someone asked me,
"if the weather were bad on the day
of our scheduled g2g... and required cancellation.
Would we run our g2g on the following Sat.
or disregard that g2g and move on to the next
scheduled date !?"

I'm not sure how we intend to handle that...
But if everyone wishes a rescheduling to
the following Sat. we would try to accommodate that.

As it stands...
and because Feb. is a short month...

Feb. 7th will be our next Sat. g2g
and Feb. 28th will likely be our 2nd g2g.
And our start up times thru these
winter months will be 10am
so that it offers ample time for those folk
whom may need to drive farther.

March will likely return us to our regular scheduling
and both our g2g's will be on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays.

Location may change tho'
So our FB page or RCCrawler thread would need be checked
to verify where our g2g will be.

Again... sorry if the notification
of our latest g2g was not clear nor promoted well.

I have a difficult time following your TVSC FB page
and knowing what events or gatherings you will be doing.
Seems like there is a lot of freelancing over there !?

That is why I asked previously
if you could keep your "events" folder updated.

In looking at your events folder previously...
it showed a scheduled TVSC's g2g for V rocks on 01-24-15.
So I could only assume your group already had plans.
And realized our scheduling might conflict.
So I did not promote our g2g at your FB page
I doubt I will post our g2g's at your FB page
into the future...
as I don't want to step on your club's toes.

Tho' I wish to work with you regarding our club's scheduling/sharing...
I must first consider our primary supporter - Bob/Dynamic Hobbies.
And so my energy/effort will be primarily spent on our local group/sponsor.

And so... an established schedule for our groups g2g's
will make it easier for us to be able to share with your club's g2g's.

The month of February will be difficult for me...
as my son will be visiting his mother during the later
half of that month...
And so... I will need organize and run our Feb. 28 g2g
by myself

I'm still hoping I can participate in your G6 event...
But I really haven't looked into the details of that
as of yet.

Hopefully it does not conflict with our Feb. established
schedule and I would be able to attend your event.

I will promote your G6 at our FB page as "invitation only"
so that our group's followers will know that
they are invited... but must RSVP with TVSC's first.

btw...

We were just as surprised as anyone...
that we had as much participation
as we did... at our last g2g.

We weren't expecting that...
but it was a pleasant surprise

end novel

Just checking the interest of...
volunteers willing to participate
in constructing an RC Club sanctuary/park ?

Both high speed and crawler course opportunities...
could be combined or two separate courses built.
There's even enough area to build a G6/trail course.

A parking area has been honed by skiff
so there's plenty room and is accessible by most std cars.

I have been informed that we could build
purdy much any RC course we'd like on this property at
HWY94 E. @ Bee Canyon (first left, over bridge, just past the FS on right)

Probably about 10 acres of total area...
and located down the secluded Bee Canyon entrance/area.

The property is owned by Dalton
whom is a member of the Minor family.
Anyone that lives around these parts
knows whom the Minor family is.

Currently... Dalton has built up a Super Cross track
on his property.
And he's offering to let us use other areas...
to build our tracks/courses as we wish.

Of course...
we would be required to sign a waiver
releasing all property owners of any liability.
But it would be our Club's own private sanctuary.
And we can build what we want

I've always wished we had a scale park to play at...
heck I'd construct a few out buildings for some mo' realism
maybe a spanning bridge ?
would be fun to get a little more enthusiastic

Maybe like a pot luck g2g...
ya bring something new to the scale park
each and every time ya come out !?

Over time... it could be awesome !

meh... it could happen

shoot... out in the desert folk hang tea kettles on a tree
so this would be less strange

I will be meeting/discussing with Dalton...
our property rights, privileges - use possibilities
later in the week.

I'm understanding there is water access.
and possibly access to power as well.

It is the only residential property at the base of Bee Canyon.
And it is guarded by a locked gate...
and some flesh hungry pooches that roam freely...
So don't venture out there without permission ! Lol

The property currently has folk living at it's residence...
So it is private and not available for individual use.
But as a group or club... we will have permission
and exclusive rights to any course that we might build.

Hopefully there is some interest and help offered.
as I cannot do this alone
We would have the backing and support of Dynamic Hobbies
and I'm sure Bob would help us financially as well.

It could be a grand thing...
if others have an interest to make it so...
and are willing to participate and donate to the park's future !?

There is also a Bobcat on site...
so we can move earth and rocks as we deem necessary.

anyone have more interest ?

btw...

for tomorrows g2g...

I will be awarding gift certificates
presented by / redeemable at Dynamic Hobbies of Hemet, Ca.

1st, 2nd and 3rd place ($) for "best in show"
bring yer best if you'd like to be judged and rewarded

Hope we'll see you there

Realize...
Staff retains the right not to present
if participation is less then 10 attendees.

random pictures of our Feb 7, 2015 G2G...

Thanks to all for your participation...
We would hope that it was enjoyed by all.

Unfortunately we did not get the minimum attendance
that we established for our standards...

So the gift certificates for 1st, 2nd and 3rd "Best in Show"
will hopefully offer some incentive for our next g2g.

With 8 attendees at this latest g2g...
It was difficult for me to not award these
to those whom were deserving of acknowledgement.

But hopefully our next G2G will find those rigs
attending for another attempt.

Sorry to all...
if we disappointed anyone.
