Re: JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry Just picked up a G6 kit. It is my first scaler and only my third crawler of any kind. I am gathering the must have upgrades for the build and I think some of your parts just made the list. The blue bears a striking resemblance to RPM parts. (not in a bad way, just an observation) |
Re: JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry Any one running these with MIP,s? I have not got mine yet, but I dont think there will be room for them, with 4mm ends and mips. we will see. |

Re: JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry I don't have MIPS, but I can try this a couple different ways. 32p kit with CI outputs an maxx shafts, stock and stock with a vp dig unit I'll try an get pics up of each |

I have MIPs on my G6 and just waiting on the RULRs to come in as soon as they do I'll mount and post pics...."thumbsup" |
Re: JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry I think I'll be redesigning these to go on the outside of the frame rails to push the link mounts out a little to clear the driveshaft. On my test rig, the geometry is way different from a Stock SCX10, so now that I have the G6 JK, I can see there needs to be a little clearance... Stay tuned! (To all those that bought a set, you will be receiving a free set of V2's...) This may affect sliders though... so... any suggestions? |

http://i841.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps7196fe81.jpg Here they are mounted on the Jk. I don't know if this pic will help you to see what it looks like on the chassis if it's possible to make anything that will work with these type of sliders. http://i841.photobucket.com/albums/z...ps74517fd0.jpg |
Re: JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry Tried a design for the outside of the chassis, but it wouldn't work with any sliders, so back to the inside of the chassis. Inset the mount a little to clear the driveshaft: http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps260213ad.jpg This will work for stock driveshafts and those just slightly bigger, but extended outputs, etc will get in the way. Took a couple pics of the risers and how it helps anti-squat as well as the pinion angle: Stock: http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...psb1984a87.jpg With RULRs: http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps718a7cab.jpg And here's the new JCAD JK G6: http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...ps105343d6.jpg I will have a build thread on it very soon, but wanted to get RULR pics up for tonight. (Same camera phone as the other shots, not even good lighting on these, but they came out way better than the other shots... wierd.) |
Re: JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry They're worth it just for the better pinion angle. :ror: |
Re: JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry a good question is will it work with a dig? i will be running the dig with wraith trans so i guess i will have to find out. |
Re: JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry just sent PP for 2 black sets ;-) |
Re: JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry Will they work with the ar60 axles under the scx10? Looks like something I need to get just need to know that to know how many. |

Re: JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry Keeping an eye on this...I run MIPs and there doesn't seem to be enough room |

Not really a design solution for larger driveshafts but on my SCX-EXO rig I welded up similar upper link risers a while back and ran into fitment issues. I just flipped my trans around. I know that some folks can't do that. So, just a thought for those that might be able too. ... |
Re: JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry I'm proud to announce that these are now available locally at The Crawl Space, and very soon online at SuperShafty.com! So, now when you are shopping at either location, you can pick up a set of these along with your order. Thanks for all the support! |
Re: JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry Alright, I just pulled the first V2's off the print bed, and wanted to make a note to those that are receiving them: To get the mount further out to clear some drive shafts, the printer would need to print support material, when removed it leaves a few lines on the inside of the piece. http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...pse427056f.jpg Support material on the left, removed on the right (and will be as shipped). If you would like, you can sand/file this down, but that is only for cosmetic purposes. This side is on the inside of the chassis and the link pretty much covers it. http://i1335.photobucket.com/albums/...psa1dd9a36.jpg I've got a little more work to do with this version to remove the support material, but I am keeping the price at $10 per pair. I've got retro orders on the printer, and will process any new orders as they come in. |
Re: JC Auto Design - SCX10 Rear Upper Link Risers - Improved geometry Great news,it is nice to you stand behind your product and make changes to accomadate the different drivetrain designs we all use."thumbsup" I hadnt had a chance to mount my sets yet but all my rigs that will be using these run MIP shafts. |
