Cool. No reverse should make things interesting.

Before you whiners start let me explain why this rule was implemented. With many clubs becoming so large that it takes a full day of sunlight to run the 2.2 class alot is being asked of judges who volunteer their time to stand all day watching people run. To help make their lives a little better it was decided that reverse is not to be allowed on course so there is no question about "did my tire roll or slide." This should greatly increase the number of people stepping up to judge and make the radio control crawling experiance better for all involved. I am changing my speed controls right now so i can start getting used to it Last edited by slugzracing; 10-03-2008 at 04:41 PM. |

| You can still have reverse at your local comps but any event running the standard rules will be without reverse.

With a no reverse rule, you are basically saying that if you do not have dig, you will never win. I know our CO courses have lines that you can't do without dig because of how tight the course is set up. Now that this "may or may not" be a new rule. I think you will need to consider the whole Pro and novice class with different courses and allowing novice to run as current rules are written. I just thought I would put that out there, I personally never argue a reverse call. I just hope the judge stays consistent and does the same to Slugz

Same here. Been practicing sets of gates w/o reverse. It takes your driving to a whole new level. |

I'll just make something that switches the wires around with a servo. Actually something like that would be easy.

If there is no reverse and a reposition puts you at the previous gate, I don't see anyone in my club finishing a course. I thought this was a joke when I first read it, if this is for real, it is going to cut the group we have now in half within a couple comps. (one half will stay home) Last edited by renoirbud; 10-03-2008 at 07:10 PM. |

Awesome, that will cut the costs of getting started in crawling greatly. Hopefully that will draw in more noobs than ever! |

I do not think that not making it through gate one for many people will be good for the hobby. Unless a reposition will count as a 1 point now instead of a 10. What about rolling back? That should be perfectly legal then? I guess we do not need drag brake then, just use the normal brake and roll back when your in neutral. Last edited by renoirbud; 10-03-2008 at 07:12 PM. |

I don't see what the problem is. It's not like every comp in the country is going to be no reverse. I'm sure local clubs are capable of running a newb and pro class of some kind. You wouldn't even need a separate route.
