Seriously, Compay Segundo deserves a mention.

Rye Cooder did the world a favor by getting these people together again. Buena Vista Social Club. Definitely not for everyone, but these guys have more talent between them together than I can comprehend.

Here he is at about age 92 or so, standing, playing guitar, he died in 2003 at age 95 I believe.

Alex Skolnick...since 85 when I first heard Testament....From Jazz to Metal shred....

Listen to the whole thing....he is amazing...

Jazz

fav song by them....has it all...

during all my learning to play, these guys never let me down to skate in the 80's....then they hired a guy named Rocky George...from way out of left field...if you listen, he is soloing through almost the whole song....

singing isn't as impressive as when I was 18..the the message is quite clear still...and the guitars still get me...

Alex is the man, and so is Rocky. I don't think any other thrash metal band from that era ever had anyone like him. I miss ST.

I honestly don't think I could list just one favorite. I like alot of them.

The one that influenced me the most when I was playing was James Hetfield. The dude's got some ballsy riffs.
