666 beat me to it but some of the old school guys are my fav's. Mitch mitchel (hendrix) keith moon (the who) ginger baker (cream, blind faith) bill ward (sabbath) Jon Boham (zep) Josh derien (local drummer from the 13's) All these guys have one thing in common they all try to kill their kits during a show. |

I couldn't decide what thread to post this in, but I wanted to mention this drummer, Joe Easley from The Dismemberment Plan. Right around 2:25 is so cool. Not bad for a lefty. |

I'm no drumming expert, but I interpreted great drummers differently. Buddy Rich was a legend, but it was hard to see his talent from his Tonight Show days. John Bonham had a way of making very difficult combinations sound really simple, like anyone could copy him. No drummer will topp what Keith Moon did on tv.....ever... Neal Peart was the total package for his time. |

He played along with Carey for reflection. 2002 Lateralus tour. Needless to say of all the concerts I've seen that one is still the clearest in my mind. it really was an amazing show |
