Well my Tear Into just showed up this morning at work! I've already got a MiniRage and a 3400kV inrunner that will mate right up to the stock drive. Not sure what kind of motor it is, got it as a mini prototype a few years back for the Kyosho Half8. Should work great for this boat on 3S!

I've got a race this weekend, but after that I will get moved into my new house and start modding this thing!

Took mine out today and ran a few pack through it. 25c 1300 3s pack got hot as hell and swelled up. Motor got pretty toasty and shut down after extended full throttle runs.

I need to spend some time and get a cooling system added in.

If it's cavitating easily, try adding a little weight to the rear or shifting the battery pack around. I still have to put mine back together to test run it!

Mine sits pretty low in the water and keeps its prime pretty good unless it's in the air

Well I just ran mine for the first time last night, got two runs on it. Holy COW is it quick! It practically jumps out of the water from standstill and has the craziest acceleration I have ever seen in a small boat. It was pouring rain so a little bit got in through the hatch but the pump did not leak at all after ten minutes in the sink with two packs sitting in it. I'll get some pics of my install, I used the stock servo mount (modified) and the stock electronics box. Just need to make a water cooling kit and it will be finished.

I might airbrush it tonight, the stock graphics are gross. Pics will be up just as soon as I can fin the cord for the cam, or I might just take some cellphone pics.

Well I got impatient lol. Hopefully these look better on bigger screens.

NQD 17" JetSprint replica
Tekin R1 ESC
Spektrum SR3100 Receiver
Spektrum DX3R
3400kV Brushless
3S Lipo
Hitec HS81MG Servo
XRay M18 Servo Horn (modified)

Yes, it really is a "Tear Into" kind of boat!

Stock intake grate. Works fine for now.

Came out very clean. Hotglued all the mounts to the hull, siliconed the pump in place.

Servo mount. I used one existing post on the stock servo mount and moved the other one to fit. Works perfect!

That's pretty much it. Once I make the cooling kit, I reckon I will have about 1 1/2 hrs into the conversion on this boat.

Does anyone know if the stock boats (yellow and White) come with different freqs or are they all the same? http://www.raidentech.com/17wajetrcelr1.html

I'm looking for about six boats that are cheap that have different freq's for a pool party.

Any help would be grand

Mine was 27 and it's white. I bet there are only two frequencies.

My yellow one is 40mhz and my white one is 27 as well. Must be just the two frequencies.

was this the boat with the 1/18 or 1/16 vxl system and stock jet?

also, is the 1/18 or 1/16 vxl a bolt up?

Not sure about the first question, but the second one is no. It's not really difficult to modify the mount, but it does not just bolt up. Also the coupler that connects the motor to the prop are different sizes. You have to drill the coupler out to make it work on the motor side.

It's about 10 mins. Then it takes 5 hours to charge the battery. The stock electronics suck. After running lipo's in the crawlers, I'm switching to a 3 cell lipo in the boat, and brushless motor.
