In the US, the Merkur name was used - XR4Ti - came with the same 2.3 Turbo 4cyl that was also used in the Mustang SVO, the T-Bird Turbo, and the Mercury Cougar XR7. No V8 factory version: |

The 2.3 was a great motor. A buddy raced then in 1/4 midgets, amazing what compression, and dual carbs could do . 74 mustangll . I could lift the wheels in first , scratch in second with 3:44, but died at 75 in 3rd Hang up and Drive |

iRacing got sprints and there were some idiots saying it wasn't close to realistic because the sprint cars did wheelies. So I showed them something like this. | |

I had the pleasure of meet and greet with the best outlaw ever, Wolfie, Doug Wolfgang . This was after his accident and he could barely walk due to the burns and scaring. We talked and had a great time watching the hot laps, he went back to the motor home then, I suspect as he really wanted to be in a car. Did get a great autograph from him on a picture of #8d Hang up and Drive |

MotoGP, and World of Outlaws guys are all crazy in their own special way. And I love watching them both. Backing a bike in on the binders is one thing, backing it into a corner on power is on a whole other level.

Marquez is an incredible talent, no doubt about it. But bear in mind, a lot has to fall into place to dethrone Rossi. A lot of people thought Simoncelli would be the one to do it, and he was incredibly talented as well. You just never know what lies in store for you, so you better make the most of every day you get.
