2000 hp is a lot, and with the right gears.
I was watching a ford pick up/door slammer doing 6.70 sec, 1/4 mile at about 210mph, with a turboed SB ford mill..probably 1500-ish hp.

I fully grasp that 2000HP is a shit ton. But when modern engineering marvels like the slippery Bugatti Chiron can only manage 261mph with a measly 1500HP, the fact they can hammer a 50yo piece of American iron through the air faster than that while maintaining the original looks is what's impressive. I know they have some fancy well engineered aero going on as well, but still, it's damned impressive and cool as hell to me.

The big difference with the Bugatti, is it is a stock production car that can be driven in traffic to the local hobby store on a daily basis.

With enough HP you can put a school bus shaped brick into orbit. Doesn’t mean it looks as good and it probably has less tech to get it there.

Straight from NASA;

The three space shuttle main engines generate the maximum equivalent of about 37 million horsepower. The fuel pump alone delivers as much as 71,000 horsepower, the oxygen pump delivers about 23,000.

thats what i said! all the suspension/shock tuning, tire pressures, etc etc

I do battery placement in that car helps immensely when it comes to getting traction, especially if that Motor/ESC combo up front is no heavier than an all aluminum LS.
