Thats interesting for sure. I wasnt expecting it to be VW doing it, though it is just a concept at this point it seems (even thought the caption on the thumbnail implies different).

The helix angle is probably to balance out forces.

Hehe yeah i would like to see that too, as i have a tiny bit experience in grinding massive GM cranks for train engines, and lapping / installing them.


I would also like to hear that SOB roar.

Well, I can't find anything on that one. But here's a cutaway view of it's little brother, 28 cylinders, and only 3,000HP.

My paint booth when i did powder coating could fit a bus, or at least a big ass van with ease.
Largest things i painted was elevator shaft sections that was bolted on the outside of older buildings, they was like 2 x 2 M and 10 M or so in length.
