Then, when you wipe out because you didn't have brakes, you'll wake up and never know what happened.
ya know that hurt!

I didnt ever wear one. one day at the park I had I line that I had down.
tried adding another ramp to the mix.

bike went up,I went down, bike hit beside me and the rear peg was heading straight for my face

I blocked it luckilly, but even a full face wouldnt have stopped it I dont think. would have cought me right about the nose/eye area.

but its hard to change, and its freaking hot here in tx in the summer.
my boy always has to wear his full face though if he's jumping.
but not just to ride around.

I'm going to leave the brakes on this bike and tune them to work perfect, right now it feels it takes like a 1/4 mile to stop from full speed.

Ill try to shave weight another way because this bike is heavy!

Not so much.

Woke up, rode the ambulance to the hospital, had a CT scan, got some staples, then went to Waffle House and hit Wal-Mart for bandages.

Didn't even bother filling the prescription for percocets.

Shelby,

THIS is a heavy bike. 43 lbs if I remember correctly.

It had NO brakes. Stopping distance was determined by the type of shoes you had on.

I'm finally getting around to putting dual discs on it.

Same here...gussets everywhere, 4 pegs, front and rear brakes, forks that weighed more than frames do now. Back then a 35lb bike was considered light, but these days anything above 25lbs is considered heavy. Crazy how times have changed.

FBM PW moto, with some coalition seat, stem seat clamp, fit trail bars, odyssey race fork, 36 hole profile race hub with primo rim hand laced, primo left hand drive cassette hub rear with ti axle hand laced, with a odyssey big city rim, revenge sealed ball bearing brake, profile race cranks, odyssey pedals and a bunch of other junk that makes it a bike.

What can I do? uh, 180's 360's, 540's, 270 tire tap to sprocket to 180 out, tire tap sprocket fakies, fufanus, abubacas, x up's, big air's, one footers, smith grinds, feeble grinds, double peg hand rails, pegless hand rails and couping tricks and I love to manual... umm yeah a couple things, Im sure Im missing something but you get the idea.

I'll tell you my favorite thing to do is just simple styley airs on 8 foot quarters and 6 to 8 foot hips then blast to the neck and manual around for while.

That damn thing must be heavy if you need a hand truck to move it around.

Damn!

I wish I could afford both sides of a front fork. How much travel is in that thing?

I just have the left side.

I've been debating a carbon lefty for mine. Damn spendy, though.

I just turned 40 in May and thought that would be a good age to get back into bmx after 20 years. So I bought a 2010 Fit.
What I can do now.
Coast down the street with no hands on the handlebars.
Sit backward on my handlebars and pedal.
Skid a long time on an old fast food serving tray.
Nose endo on the curb.
Bunny hop up a curb too!
