Yep, no video games here either. I lived quite a distance from the nearest town....we didnt have cable....I got to watch public channels (IIRC, we had 4 or 5) on a tiny TV with NO electrical remote. We did have something similar to a remote...his name was Jeremy.

They don't have an accent. That's just what English sounds like when words are pronounced properly.

yeah i watch tv/play video games about 2hours or less a day. my parents dont limit my tv/video game habbits because i think 2hours or less in my book is pretty resonable. no? id rather do a puzzle, thats why i cant wait until i get to work on my first rc kit. besides i live on a main road were my nearest friend is a 5min car ride so i dont get out that much only if im going to the store or some thing. im 16 and i dont have a job because bad grades do not allow. so, when i get a job and save up for my first truck ill rarely be home.

Hmmm, I think we lived in the same town. Didn't get cable until 1981, and at my house we had 3 remotes. My youngers brothers and myself.

Ha! You got it early! My folks didn't get cable until I went away to college (1996)....about the same time they got a riding lawnmower (since their automatic mower [me] was no longer around)...

when i asked him to get one he said no way our yard is too small (total BS it took me like 3 hours to mow the front and back lawn)

I figured you would have a herd of goats to "mow" your lawn.

Haha.....my folks lived on about 5 acres when I was a kid....their yard took me most of the day to mow. I love to mow mine now...I am finished (mow, edge and blow the driveway) in under an hour...

Wow, side tracked thread anyone

I remember seeing cable in about 1980, or 1981. We had the console in the living room and my grandparents had a 13 inch in their bedroom. As far as remotes, it was us kids. Hell, I still remember how to "tweak" the rabbit ears to get better reception in a storm.

Here is a good one, did anyone else have to stand next to the TV and hold the antenna in order to get a channel sometimes? I had to sit on the console with a antenna in my lap more then once due to bad weather.

We have a 55" plasma here, in November it'll be 4 years that we've had it. It's alot nicer watching nature shows (Planet Earth type stuff) and racing in HD than it was on the 32" CRT which is in my room now.

SO I have to ask,

HOW MANY OF YOU GUYS WHO HAVE TO HAVE THE BIG SCREEN TV's. Carry the little cell phones (DROIDS AND SUCH) and watch TV on them.

Funny all the shit, the big wheels sell you guys!!! New stuff for you every few months. (Get your money out, something new is coming out)

HA HA!!! I just thought, this applies to RCs also

Picked this up a couple weeks ago:

32" LG, Yamahama 5-channel amp, up-converting DVD. It's big enough for my man-cave and there's a 46" Toshiba upstairs.

Naaa, we were high tech, we had an antenna on the roof baby. Still only had about 7-8 channels before cable came in.
