Don't relate the word to black people. Problem solved. The word wasn't invented to describe a black person. If you want to attatch the word nigger to a black person, keep it to yourself. If you use the word nigger as a descriptive word for something of less than good quality, go for it.

The people that have a problem with that word obviously still think that to be a nigger means to be black. Or to have a niggered item, is to have a black(?) item...... So, if you are one of those people, just keep to yourself while the rest of the country moves on with thier lives. Past is in the past. Dwell on it if you must, but do it quietly, because in all honesty, dwelling on it, and playing the race card is a WAY BIGGER problem than racism is anymore. That's the truth right there.

More than anything, I hate a hypocrite. I hope you don't act that childish all of the time. What kind of example are you hoping to set?

Go join a nazi forum if you really enjoy the word. They love it!
I never said I liked that word, show me where I did. I'm just saying it's tools like you that say they are setting a good example when they aren't. Coming on here acting like an internet tough guy gets you nowhere. Then you want to call me a Nazi?

This thread reminds me of this song:

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=7vofXcC0rj4

Fast forward to 2:45 for the relevant part.

Personally, I don't use the N word or any other racial slur. It's offensive, demeaning, and really does nothing but cause further tensions as seen in this thread. I feel the same way when people of any race use a slang word for their own race. The English language has so many words, there's much better ones to choose from.

Rig rocker,

You seem like a nice enough guy and I wasnt questioning how stand up you are. I was mearly pointing out how sensitive people are anymore when it comes to being PC. In the thread he didnt use the "N" word to describe a person he used it to describe his poorly engineered base on the drill press yet you took offense to it and made a big deal of it. He didnt mention anything about a black person in his thread nor did he say he doesnt like black people but you made him out to be a racist. Think of how many ways you can use the "F" word. To me it seems the same thing anymore.

If people wouldnt make such a big deal about it, it wouldnt be a big deal anymore

It's not hard not to use the word is it.

I mean it's not like it's the start of society crumbling because a few people have asked that a certain word not be used.

Thing that gets me though is it's white people standing up for something that MIGHT upset a FEW black people.

We've had a black guy come on and say it doesn't offend him, if your wife or daughter come on and say it offends them then fair enough.
In my experience though people second guessing others causes far more problems than any 1 word can.

But then i'm a Brit so all this sort of stuff just seems a bit crazy to me.
Had one American mate upset because i called him a "yank"
He said it was a inaccurate racist remark

Ok it's not factually or historically correct as he's not from that part of the woods, but what i'm saying is, if people want to get upset they'll find something to get upset about.

I know I was joking. And yes you are right. Almost anything can be taken the wrong way by someone who is looking for a reason.
