I was planning on 1/2 square tubing but it was kinda pricy. If I built it I would have to turn around and sell it, to make up for the money put into it.
But I'm checking around for better prices.

yes 1" square tube is what it is made of.

dang, 20" wide seems really big for a 2.2 type truck. i would go about 2 " wider than the truck you plan on pulling. well, thats my opinion.

Unimog - Thanks
Mr. Longtravel - I'm still in the planning stages as I have to get a vehicle to pull it.
Blazed - You just need to get beat with a 2X4...J/K.. I haven't built it yet. Just planning it for the past month and desided to go for it.

Not sure if I will put winches on mine. I want it to look like the one I use to have. I'll paint it yellow (CAT yellow) with wood planks.

I think the wood wouldn't add much weight. Because it would have to be fairly thin something like the wood you would use for the edges of a table top it's like 1/8 or 1/4 inch thick pine. Then I'll add clear sealer or some wax stuff I can't recall the name of. It will show the wood color and last a while longer. As most 1/1 trailers have a coat of oil based stuff to give it durability and weather resistance.

OK I went to Kmart to see if the CXT was 1/6. NOPE it only had a 11.5 wheel base and for $75 not going to do it. I would be better of getting the TLT and extending the wb with an extended flat bead and cab only..
If anyone sees the 1/6 CXT send me a line.

Our WM has 2-3 of the 1:6 CXT's for $49. I almost got one to tow my trailor but I heard they were horrible in general so I got a 1:6 Jeep instead and just switched the body.

I guess you could get it just for the body but that's a pretty expensive body IMO...

I wish I would have picked up the CXT at my WM about 2 months ago. They had it on clearance for $20.00 that would have been worth the body.
I'll look around for a deal on something. Then build around it.

Unimog was going to show us how his worked but hasn't yet. I'm working on a ball and hitch idea at the moment. Trying to figure out how to use springs and a such to make it "latch" like a 1/1.
