| Meet the sleeper
My brother in law visited me this weekend on his way to New Mexico. He had been working on a new project as always. Last one was a 2000 Ford Ranger with a 302cc and a Turbo in it. (scary biach). This time he told me he wanted something diferent so he went with a 2000 Mazda Miata. It is bored to 30, forged pistons and rods, slightly polished head intake and exhaust, garret turbo, intercooler, Racing Beat exhaust and aftermarket injectors and computer system...oh, and an imported 6 speed tranny. This little bastard is pushing close to 400 ponies at the rear wheel at 15psi (still doing breakin). He pushed it at 40mph in 4th gear and it breaks the tires loose like its on 1st gear! I thought the Ranger was extreme but this thing is fun! I already told him I will buy it from him when he is ready for the next project(Nissan 240 with a Sylvia engine). Just a few pics: Last edited by Oso787; 04-17-2011 at 06:01 PM. |

Cool. I've been considering a Miata as my next play car...that or a turbo Volvo.

What was the girls name he bought it from? I have a few buddies who use miata's for auto cross. They seem to do pretty well. |

Just like you can do whatever you want to a Sportster. Make any excuse you want, its still a girls bike. Same with a Miata.

To each its own, I bet you drive a big manly truck...just like mine! You should see the faces of guys in fast manly Corvettes and Mustangs when he blows by them! But yeahh, its kind of a girly car in my opinion too! Last edited by Oso787; 04-17-2011 at 07:21 PM. |

| The fact is the car is probably a 11 sec car(if he can get it to hook up) in a 1/4 of mile, girly or not! How many manly dudes can make that claim in their Testosterone breathing V8's? But again, to each its own. I personally love muscle cars but I have a new found respect for what a turbo can do! That's all.

With those tires it'll be OK... for a while. But that should be pretty high on the to-do list.

I have been in a couple of Rice burners and was impressed with many of them. The closest thing to 11 seconds I have. Low 12's . 6 point cage, 440 HP ZO6 engine.

Well I drive 1 tons, and lately it seems that deisels are nearly as much a dams ride as a cooper or a scion, just a different type of dam is all. I have always thought a miata would look cool with custom affects that mimic a viper. I could have a hell of alot of fun in any of the rides pictured |

He needs a set of decent tires to make that car hook up a little better. but with something that light and high horsepower is never a good thing imo.
