| Paypal Gift Payment?
What's with all the people in the classifieds wanting payment sent as a gift? Do people actually do this? There's no way I'm buying anything from someone who wants it sent as a gift... if they don't send anything to you, you have no recourse because you sent it as a gift. This shouldn't even be allowed.

x2 I only gifted once and that was a small amount for a down payment to hold an item for a few days. |

I believe Paypal takes less of a fee if the money is sent as a gift. I could be wrong. I'm usually the one sending the money, not receiving it.

If you do a "gift payment" the person sending the money pays the fees. There was a thread about this just a week or so ago Explains it very well. |

| Same here. I feel it's my responsibility to know how much I need to get and factor the shipping/fees in myself so I don't expect someone else to spend more $$$ on top of the selling price. Imagine if businesses all started doing that, every time you used a credit card they ad 3% to your bill.

not to mention that those fees are how business' like paypal stick around, and compare what they charge to send money to a money order. then you have to wait for it to get to you in the mail and clear with the bank.

When it comes to stuff like this, ya gotta use your best judgement. How long has that member been a part of the community? Hows their feedback here on the site? Whats their Ebay rating? Times are tough these days and not everyone has a gangload of cash. When they sell something, they want the full amount. If you dont like the way that person ask for payment, carry on.... |

I just dont think it needs to be an option when selling. If 3% is gangloads of cash and is going to kill you sell for 3% more ? ? I have bought from a couple people on here wanting "paypal gift" and only seeing lots of other feedback did I feel safe and went ahead. That was the only reason, lots of other feedback. Still was a risk, I have never and will never ask for gift option..not cool in my book. Once you get into the amount of money where 3% is a good amount no one would ask for the option or take it. Site just seems to regard this entire place and the classifieds with much honor and respect (that it rightfully deserves) that why tarnish it with gifting payments? Rant off |

Asking for a "gift" payment is lame. If you can't afford the 30 cent fee on the $10 part you just sold, you've got problems. I won't gift a payment unless its someone I know personally. |

| Same here... I've never sent one and probably never will. If I feel it was a real good deal I may send some extra to help with the fees but I will never if someone asks me to do it.
