Just watched Savages. I would give it a 8/10. You can tell it is an Oliver Stone film, which I like personally. Has a good story line and the ending is not what you would expect. Savages (2012) - IMDb |

We saw Flight on Saturday. I've always liked Denzel, but some of his movies aren't always the greatest. I think this is probably the best I've seen him. Pretty good movie, but not what I was expecting...not in a bad way, just a different story line than I thought it would be. 9/10 |

| Re: Rate the last movie you watched Ya don't say...I was actually referring to the budget cuts to military. I blame the movie for making me think this. I'm sure our military force will always be big and strong enough to keep us safe and handle their business.

Cloud Atlas 5 out of 10 I wanted to fall asleep about 3 times during the movie. Sluggish plot and its close to 3 hours long. Quote:

The Tower Heist. I figured it was a comedy since it had Stiller and Murphy in it. Turns out it was really pretty entertaining and well done. 8/10 |

Last weekend, I saw 'SkyFall'. I liked it, the action sequences were fantastic and we got to see the old DB5 ! |

Lawless, Good flick, would rate it 4 out of 5 bacons. The cast was really good, even Shia did a pretty damn good job. It was based off a true story about moonshine bootleggers. Definitely worth a watch; especially if you like gangster movies and such from the Prohibition time period.

Dark Shadows...7/10 great movie....very funny and not as dark as one would imagine. Not safe for children....or even preteens IMO ( strongly sexual ) snow white and the huntsmen.....7/10 great movie, old story with new spin.....I liked it. totally kid friendly ( sex wise ) but some blood and gore. hotel transelvania......8/10 I loved it, laughed repeatedly, this is one I will deffinatley buy... tottaly kid friendly, not sexual at all, great love story. the driver.......7/10 I liked it, its slow, but very nostalgic IMO cuz its story is described the way older movies back in the day was ( this is why its slow ) Good cast...good story...but a little far fetched in spots. good for teens and many even your preteens ( preview 1st just incase )violence Lp man......10/10 I absolutely loved it, but part 2 was way to far fetched not sexual or gory....just a lot of bruce lee style kungfu fighting and an excellent story line....this movie has a lot of character. Lawless 7 out of 10 Good acting and cinematography. The movie seemed pretty serious so the 3-4 times the film makers injected comedy, it seemed forced or out of place. Ending was lacking as well. |

I know there's a thread for this already, but we saw Django recently. 9/10 if you are a Tarantino fan (I am). I would give it a 10 if there were a few more explosions If you aren't a Tarantino fan, don't go to this movie. I am now in the process of legally changing my name to Djuan...the D is silent. |

| Re: Rate the last movie you watched I watched the 1995 version of Judge Dredd starring Sylvester Stallone the other day, and tonight I watched the new version of Dredd starring Karl Urban(Bones from Star Trek). I used to read the comics years ago and I think the 95 version is truer to them, in terms of characters, costumes, tech and the Lawmaster bike. But Dredd NEVER takes his helmet off in the comics, and Sly did. Bad move. The 2012 version isn't as true to the comics in these areas, the only things they got right were the Lawgiver and the helmet, which is never taken off. The Megacity didn't look futuristic at all either. That said the 2012 version has much more graphic violence. Lots of blood, crushed skulls, and body parts blown to pieces. I really enjoyed both of them, but in different ways. I think they both deserve 8/10 Last edited by HyperMark; 01-02-2013 at 09:49 AM. |
