| lift kit
I just ordered my 6" SPOA kit and rims and tires for my 87 TinTop Samurai today. Had to go with some Pro-Comp mud terrains as TSL is not making tires right now (DANGIT). Heres what Im starting with..... I can finally get rid of the vampire fangs on the thing (I bought it that way). Everything should get here next week and the fun can begin. |

what size of a tire are you going to run. Are you going to stretch the wheelbase?

I got the kit from Rocky Road Outfitters (the complete kit with OTT steering and shocks and extra brake lines) and for now just going to use a 32" tire (those are coming from 4 Wheel Parts), and not going to stretch the wheelbase. I still have my Ranger and Explorer for tougher wheeling.

are you going to poke a 350 motor in it? and also with a lift that big you might have to lengthen the driveshafts and make sure if it didn't come with the kit that you get the right shims for the front axle.

No V-8 (I have enough with my V-8'd Ranger), this kit has all the extensions and shims. Mainly gonna be just a run around town/mild wheeling rig.

As far as a suspension lift goes, it will be kinda pricey. They went independent front suspension, so you would need all the brackets for lowering the front arms/diff/etc. As far as a body lift goes, just make sure that they are of good quality, with all the brackets you will need (My 3" on my 94 Explorer came with the blocks/steering shaft extension/bumper brackets/ and brackets for lowering the fan shroud). Go check out The Ranger Station Forums. Lots of info on that site.... As far as the Samurai's go (yes I have picked up another one), I am planning on building the 86 into a buggy/wheeler. Looking at trying to fit a 5.0/AOD/Atlas and a HP44 and 9" that I have. Looking to run around a 100" wheel base on the buggy. What I am starting with .....
