I was ansering the guy above me's question. I have been using brushless motors in my planes for about 6 or 7 years.

I get about an hour of runtime in the snow. The only problem is when the tracks get stuck. The motors wont start up properly under a heavy bind, but evey motor has its stall limit

I have my radio mixed for skid steering if I wish, or at the flick of a switch it changes to standard RC car style with left stick the throttle and the right stick the steering. The steering mix adds outside track motor speed in a turn, and takes away some inner track speed as well.

So Johnrob, more testing I see (or don't see actually).

Looks like fun, seems you guys got about as much snow as we did.

Sorry to bring this back to the top, but was wondering if johnrobholmes would be willing to share what size brushless motors were used in the above setup. Thinking about making mine BL, don't think I will go the dual motor route tho. And does anyone know a good place to order the brace kit for the front plates bending where the drive cogs are mounted?

Thanks for any info, and keep the cool pics coming too.

The snow melted, so I havent done anything with it lately.

The motors are the same size as a park 400 stator, but the body is a little shorter. It binds up in the snow when all is stuck, but I get 1 hour runtimes too so I aint complaining. If you are wanting BL while keeping the stock driveline, a single larger motor would suite it better. I am afraid a normally wound outrunner would be too slow though.

They are Ok for general bashing, but it is made for the snow. Thats when I get it out.

Made some progress on the body tonight. I got a bit of freetime so I took it all apart for lights and paint.

does any body know that part numbers on the kyosho chain drive stuff cause i put a ten turn in and it instsntly fried the tranny. i wan't to put my 7700 in but not with more stock gears and stuff

slow as chit stock but the 10t livened it right up. a real servo also made it turn like a caddy instead of a limo
