Here's another one I pieced together. It started as a 1984 GMC pickup. If you remember I used the tires wheels and some of the chassis parts on the older chevy truck I painted rust red and put the "Thumper II" decals on. Anyway back to this truck. I hit with a little metallic red and took to cutting USA1 springs to fit the chassis. After that, I used the wheels, tires, and axles from the USA1. Then I went to my engine drawer and picked out an old worn out hemi. This thing is far from done. I still need to tie up some loose ends like exhaust, get the shocks to stay put, and get some new chrome for the Hemi. Or just paint the parts with missing chrome.

I used to do tons of 1:48 scale aircraft before my near vision crapped out on me.

I sold off 95% of my 48th scale stuff and started stockpiling 1:32 and 1:24.

Here are my last two 48th scale builds and a 1:28 Hobbycraft Dr1.

The Corsair was pulled from the shelf of doom just to test cutting masks on my vinyl cutter.

The F-104 was the last serious build.

The Dr1 came off the shelf of doom also.

There is not one decal on any of these builds. That includes the prop and it's logos on the Dr1

Here's a fun little build. It wasn't labor intensive or anything. Just a simple Chevy Citation. BUT IT'S A TURBO! LOL And from what I've read they never really made these cars. But if they did I bet they would have been fun to drive.

I think everyone's built this kit at least once. It's " THE OLD PRO". To me, this kit is just like that one guy at the local track that has a pretty good car that could surprise you on any given weekend. So when I built mine I built it like that. The two fenders and hood are different colors because he's never got it all together.
It's got a huge rake due to the way to big tires he's running. But when it comes to power he's got it going on with the HEMI.

Cool,

I picked up some cool automotive stuff, been building, finished 1 and a few making good progress. I like to wire up the engines, fuel lines..the most stressful though, is painting.

Yes, I totally agree. Especially the small scale military kits, my hands are too big.

Don’t build a Tamiya Semi then..... this is a trailer, almost nothing but paint!

It will take about 15 hours of paint prep, primer, color, clear..... hopefully no polishing needed.

This tractor took about 35 hours, including foil and polishing.

Super nice job!

Ya, the painting bodies is what I fret over, polishing really, I really strived to have glass like finish. My eyes suck now, so I'll just settle for smooth.

I like doing the motors, painting bodies can be nerve racking, polishing, sanding through corners. I have decided a bit less than perfect can suffice

Painting is not too bad, chopping and sectioning , and pancaking take real patience.
