Afx cars go pretty good, not as good as a new tyco or anything but the older AFX cars have the bodies that are 10x cooler then any tyco. My lhs still has parts for the AFX cars so every once and while I run mine around a simple track, I like putting worn out tires on punching it and letting tires spin and if ya hit the turns right the A$$ end kicks out just a little bit

I have some wire to wind my own motor, maybe I'll go balls to the wall and wind my own and achieve liftoff.

I have a 67 Camaro slot car that was my Dad's from the early 60's, (ones with skinny tires) he gave it to me when I was like 14 so I ran it with the "newer" style cars and it was no way near as fast. The magnets could not hold it down in the corners so it kinda drifted through them, looked cool though. I still have it 16 years later and the last time I took it out the tires are very dry and cracked but every thing else is mint!
You got yourself a great collection started, I remmember having some of the AFX cars, had some 70's Nascar's and stuff.

I really want to drive one but its hard to make myself. I've never been able to make it around the track without crashing, if I broke one of those cars I would ahve a stroke.
