Stock dividends are much different than salary. Still not a good sign, but I thought you meant they weren't paying employees their salary.

So like I said, Axial was the first to mass produce a capable and reliable scale crawler.

I love Tamiya and those trucks are awesome and were way ahead of their time, but nobody would call those things even close to capable. And the 4-Runner was just Kyosho's version of the CC-01, neither of which were capable.

A COUPLE of retirees from Tower were told that their payout was delayed..... that's not uncommon on ESOP payouts , but Hobbico is having issues across the whole hobby spectrum , even drones . Coupons and outright giveaways cost everyone eventually.
I marveled on the savings I had last year as a club member, the coupons I got were big savers on big orders....

You can qualify it however you want, but they weren't the first.

That's like saying there was no such thing as crawling before berg axles, just because it's the best option now doesn't make it the first. Also, the 4runner came out before the CC-01.

Statements typically need to be quantified. I'll stand by my statement.

Let's take it a step farther and say the RC crawler was invented when the very first RC was invented well before Kyosho and Tamiya because it could have been used on the rocks if the owner wanted. Never mind the fact that it was probably an on-road car that wouldn't have moved on the rocks.

We'll have to agree to disagree.

I agree with a lot of things you say Jato, but not this.

I bought my Tamiya Bruiser while I was stationed in Japan in 1988. Maybe it wasn't as "capable" as an SCX10, but it was a 4 wheel drive RC specifically built for off-road use.

The ship that carried Yuri Gagarin in orbit may not have been as capable as Alan Shepard's, but he still beat Shepard into space by a month.

There's only "one" first in anything and Axial is not it.

I'm just jealous I didn't have an OG Bruiser when I was a kid so I subconsciously block that out.

This was my shopping cart:
Quote:
Axial 1/8 Yeti XL Monster Buggy 4WD Kit
Coupon discount not allowed by manufacturer
My shopping cart was emptied because I was going to use this coupon: SAVE $75 on $499.00 ORDER, use free shipping, and get the kit for ~$425 delivered . . . nope . . .

My shopping cart now has items from another manufacturer in it

Maybe I'm not like most people here because I can live a complete and totally happy life without ever purchasing any more Axial products

Thank goodness there are many, many great products out there

What's all this talk about Axial and coupons? I guess it's only an American thing?

The ultimate scale rigs. Very authentic axles, 3 speed trans, leaf springs & u-bolts hell they even had locking hubs! Yet they weighed 10 lbs, had rock hard tires and couldn't climb over a 2x4 laying on the ground but by gawd it was scale! The old adage that "the older we get, the better we were" is true for old things too. We romanticize memories and make ourselves think they were better than they were. I've had a bruiser and I'm a die hard toyota guy from the word go but those rigs are better on the shelf than on any trail.

Default Is Axial Racing is going bankrupt?

I've got an original bruiser, and with some tweaking it's as good as any tf2.. except for the transmission.. that's a weak link. I've also got a local guy who is on this forum who will bring out his blazer and hilux on trail days and they aren't actually that bad, a little on the stiff side, but no worse than a stock tf2.

All that said, I've read more of the comments and am seeing a common theme.. money talks. This coupon thing is allowing other manufacturers to sneak into and beat axials price point. If you have to pay 400 for an Scx and can get a tf2 for 340, really.. , which one would you pick? And if you're on a budget you can still get a sawback for about 230. Hope these forums don't fall on deaf ears and the companies hear us, if not they might see a snowballing shift in buying trends

The tf2 is a poor performing turd so that's a pretty solid stick to measure another craptastic rig by.

Which rig would I choose? None of them. Nobody makes a rig I like enough to buy outright. I start off with axles and a trans then build from there. I did just pick up a free rtr wraith and now I understand why people spend so much money on rtr's shortly after purchase. This thing was a pile of crap stock. $600 in parts thrown at it later and it sucks a bit less.

I had 2 of them. I ran rear dog bones front and back so the front stopped flying our randomly and kept it on the sand only. Locked rear and center diff with a 4250 4 pole 550 brushless on 3s made it a wheelie popping bad ass sand toy. Then we moved away from the sand so I dumped them.

My bet is that his username is a nod to both Axial and GNf'nR.
