Chit, all that data collection started with the birth of WEBZ. I'm 64, and have watched all this crap rize and consume the population.

We are all subject to the "All seeing Eye"

Im logged into my google account on my home and work Chrome browser. The cookies I get at home google know to show them to me every where Im logged in.

Same thing with Yahoo. Once you log in to anywhere they know to send you add related info every where. Cookies make internet browsing easy but holy crap they information they get now is incredible with them.

While scrolling through Instagram the other day, I saw an ad for a brand of pudding I bought once at the grocery store months ago. I simply had my phone in my pocket. It could've been coincidence, but I doubt it. I think next time I'm going to buy some random item I've never bought before & see if it comes up.

My money says if you use a debit card or most assuredly a rewards card when checking out it will pop up in your ad feed.
